Kate Middleton is a member of the British Royal Family who is also known by her titles, Duchess of Cambridge and Catherine, Princess of Wales. She is married to Prince William, the heir to the British throne.

Middleton was born on January 9, 1982 in Reading, U.K. to parents Michael and Carole Middleton. She has a younger sister, Pippa Middleton, and a younger brother, James Middleton. She grew up in Bucklebury, Berkshire and was educated at St Andrew's School and Marlborough College.

Middleton studied Art History at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where she met and befriended Prince William in 2001. In 2002, Middleton and Prince William lived together with friends, where their relationship turned romantic. The couple dated secretly before their relationship became public in 2004. Middleton and Prince William broke up in 2007 before reuniting the following year.

After college, Middleton worked as an accessory buyer with the clothing chain Jigsaw between 2006 and 2007. She later became involved in charity work, organizing fundraisers for various children's charities, work she continues to this day.

Middleton married Prince William at Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011 in a ceremony viewed around the world. They have three children, Prince George, born in 2013, Princess Charlotte, born in 2015, and Prince Louis, born in 2018. The official residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales is Kensington Palace.
