About

Recently I became the course lead for enhanced practice; this is a new development for AHPs to allow specialisms in a specific area, currently our program delivers mental health, critical care and urgent care.

My interests are research, mental health, law and ethics, public health and its role in society. I am an active member of the College of Paramedics.

I enjoy leading on the extended projects module for our course as our students have some amazing ideas and some of these ideas have been further developed by ambulance trusts.  Research is an area that needs more attention in paramedicine, so any contribution is a positive.

Over the last few years, I have developed a schema for NHSE in enhanced practice for paramedics, this is a real passion for me as I believe paramedics can provide support in the delivery of healthcare in the community.  The development of this schema has allowed me to explore the different roles paramedics work in and meet stake holders with a real passion for our profession.

I have published articles about enhanced practice and have contributed chapters to books including a section on mental health in the Law and Ethics book for Paramedics.
