Fiona, expereinced clinical psychologist offering empathetic, LGBTQIA+ friendly, trauma-informed and strengths-based therapy in Carlton, Melbourne

Fiona is a senior clinical psychologist and supervisor who works at Symmetry on Wednesdays.

She aims to support clients across the lifespan to have a greater understanding of their current difficulties. She has extensive experience working with young people (12+) and adults with anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, emotion dysregulation, psychosis, trauma and relational difficulties as well as with their families. Her style is empathetic, LGBTQIA+ friendly, trauma-informed and strengths-based, and paced according to where the client is at when they enter therapy. She strives to create a safe space for people to share their internal world, and works from the view that everyone will have struggles during their life, that this is to be human, and, through awareness and understanding of themselves, can lead more meaningful lives. She draws upon evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused therapy, Dialectical Behavioural therapy (DBT) and Schema therapy.
