Thinking about why Albion are listed as being in the Premier League by this site, I have to conclude (as I launch the 1400th. title) that it is because we care……and, punching above our weight deserve to be so honoured, as the fourth or fifth most engaged set of fans in British football.

Is this because we really do care……or are all the other teams supported by illiterate wankers?

    What’s it all about, Alfie?

Anyway, back to reality. It’s always good to stuff the Potters. I can’t help feeling that such wins help wash away the nightmare of TP.

Now, with a decent little team and a good manager, we need a few band-wagon jumpers to rejoin this conversation.

Where are you MalcolmX? You could become the 4000th. commenter🤣

I have finally concluded that our manager is worth his weight in gold. He gets players operating at 20 percent higher than any other manager has managed to wring out of them. Kipre, Mowatt and Grant are cases in point. Having been written off by management and fans alike, CC takes his own look at them and then works some coaching magic so that the rejects become essential components of his team. Now, having been forced to get rid of some of his highest earners, he refuses to throw in the towel and has built a team from what he has left with quite a few bargain basements to complete his squad. I know it’s early days but we haven’t started a season as encouragingly for years. Two away wins and a winning draw at home against the promotion favourites. Baggy blokes have finally got smiles on their faces. Long may it continue.

I’ve only seen highlights but the sight of Karlan Grant throwing himself goalwards, fending off a defender and HEADING a goal was something unexpected. Tom Fellows was outstanding again with two assists and a shot kicked off the line. The only worry was Bartley who let Koumas Jnr run past him on at least three occasions resulting in a goal and two posts hit! Maybe when Fabrotta gets used to the pace of the EFL the Heggem can slot into Bartley’s place. He reminds me of a cross between John Wile and Jonas Olsson. Let’s hope he turns out to be as good. As you say Sarky, CC has got people performing well above expectations.
