You may be familiar with Block Shop Textiles, the design company run by sisters Hopie and Grier Stockman. Started as a passion project in 2013, the brand is known for its handcrafted scarfs, robes, and homewares. “We started our business with the intention of bringing joy into people’s homes through thoughtfully-made textiles,” Hopie says. “That’s what we continue to do 10 years on.” Today, Block Shop Textiles continues to push the boundaries of its craft by pairing traditional block-printing techniques with modern, California-inspired designs.

In this installation of Re.Fund Your Dreams, host and successful design entrepreneur Justina Blakeney of the design and lifestyle brand Jungalow teams up with Innovation Refunds to get to know the Stockman sisters over some block printing. Watch as they reflect on getting scrappy (quite literally) to survive COVID-19 and learn about the resources that can help them on their way to global expansion.
