The current-generation Toyota Hilux has been available since 2015. Since then, it has undergone a handful of updates. Most of these have been minor facelifts, which came with new features. Toyota will soon introduce a new version of the Hilux, the next-gen model. The first spy shots of a test mule have now surfaced online.

Next-gen Toyota Hilux: Exterior

The images of the test mule show a camouflaged front and rear end. Toyota hasn't bothered to cover the doors, which indicates that these panels stay the same. Most of the aesthetic upgrades will be concentrated on the truck's front and rear fascia. Like the new Camry, the next-gen Hilux will also be an evolution of the current model, not a major generation update.
That said, the completely revised front is visible. The headlights feature a sharper design. Like the front grille, the front bumper also has a new look. The face of the new Hilux could take inspiration from the new-gen Tacoma and Tundra models sold overseas. The rear section of the Hilux will also be updated and likely feature new tail lamps and a new tailgate.

Next-Gen Toyota Hilux: Interior

The interior of the Hilux is not visible in the spy shots, but it is likely that Toyota will upgrade the cabin. Expect to see a new dashboard design with a bigger central touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. The feature list could also go up, and higher trims will feature nicer materials.

Next-Gen Toyota Hilux: India Launch

The next-gen Hilux will likely continue with the same platform, which means that the current 2.8-litre diesel engine will continue. This engine produces 201 hp and 500 Nm of peak torque with the automatic transmission. The new Hilux will likely break cover later this year or early 2026 and subsequently debut in India.
