Amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, California, tragic videos of residents scrambling to save their pets as the flames ravaged their homes surfaced on social media. Some videos showed LA residents trapped inside their homes with their pets, while others showed people saving their trapped pets against all odds.

Over the last couple of days, three wildfires have broken out in California, the first in Palisades, then Eaton and Hurst. It led to the evacuation of over 30,000 residents, with evacuation orders in place for parts of Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica and Altadena. CNN on Wednesday reported that the California wildfire could become the costliest fire the United States has witnessed.

Notably, the fire has lead to the death of at least two people and injuries to several others. Over 300,000 residents in the northern California region are without power due to the wildfires. Over 1,000 structures have been destroyed, including homes of celebrities like Ben Affleck, Jhene Aiko and the Kardashians.

Meanwhile, the state is facing a major water shortage with firefighters reporting running out of water while dousing the flames. Plus, the strong Santa Ana winds with up to 100 mph speed has further complicated the efforts to bring the fires in control. Amid the water crisis, Governor Newsom has declared a state of emergency, and the Los Angeles Fire Department has urged residents to conserve water amid the crisis.
