Glad you asked! Simply put, high-quality content is the stuff that really inspires people! It makes them stop and say wow! It grabs people's attention and sticks with them long after they've moved on! So what's the formula?
High-quality content starts with great photos. Here are some basic things to keep in mind depending on your subject.
📸 Step 1: The Rule of Three
Find at least three (3) stunning photos. Make sure they're clear, have good composition, and feature a uniform color pallet. Also make sure they're actual photos, not screenshots, emojis, or other non-travel related images.
🤩 Step 2: Best Face Forward
The first photo you attach will automatically become the cover photo for your Trip Moment. Choose one especially likely to grab people's attention. Something exciting or visually appealing is always a good choice here.
♨️ Step 3: Quality Not Quantity
Go for quality in your photos. Don't attach images that are out of focus or don't give a sense for the location or attraction you're showing off. Three high-quality photos are much better than seven or eight that are just 'meh.
🙄 Step 4: Nobody Likes a Rerun
Don't just post the same basic photo three times. Change the angle or provide different perspectives and looks at the scenery. Try to find a good balance between people and landscapes.
📸 Step 1: The Rule of Five
Find at least five (5) stunning photos. Make sure they're clear, have good composition, and feature a uniform color pallet. Also make sure they're actual photos, not screenshots, emojis, or other non-travel related images.
- NOTE: Include at least one photo showing the general restaurant layout and interior décor. Posts with photos only showing food will NOT earn a featured tag.
Show off specialty dishes or otherwise attractive presentations of food.
🙄 Step 4: Nobody Likes a Rerun
Don't just post the same basic photo five times. Change the angle or provide different perspectives and looks at the scenery. Try to find a good balance between people and landscapes.
Grab people's attention with a title that both conveys what the moment is about and also the general mood you're trying to capture. Consider the following:
• Provide a concise summary that highlights the most important and useful information you're trying to provide.
• Use clever and appropriate punctuation or emoji to make your titles pop!
Photos might be worth a thousand words, but that doesn't mean words aren't important. This is where you want to convey the details about the destination or attraction not captured in your photos. Think like this:
- Make your descriptions 100 words or more and organize your content into short, logical paragraphs.
- Offer practical descriptions and useful recommendations
- Draw out the details. What are the rich experiences to be found at that location? What tips and tricks can you recommend people to follow or what sort of things should they avoid? Offer a hand to those who will come after you.
- Speak from personal experience. Talk about what mattered most to you and why. Avoid advertising, petition, plagiarism, false or misleading content, or anything malicious.
- Add creative and fun #hashtags 👍
Pictures are great but moving pictures (aka videos) are even better! Let loose your creativity and come up with a clever visual montage. Here are some tips:
- Make your video content at least 30 seconds in length. Convey the full expanse of what you're trying to show. Maybe that's an amazing landscape, interesting people, or something else better expressed through motion.
- Avoid queasy cam! Keep your videos stable without a lot of jerking around. Go for smooth pan, tilt, and zoom. Also stay in focus.
- Include multiple perspectives. Rather than three separate, still photos, consider instead shooting your video from three different angles and weaving those together into a scenic journey.
- Add some suitable background music to up the emotion. Or consider basic narration or on-screen text.
Once you've mastered all the above, throw in some bonus materials like providing accurate location tags or helpful details about attractions, hotels, restaurants, etc. #Hashtags are a thing now too. #HighQuality #content can #benefit from some #creative #hashtags!
Going the extra mile (or kilometer) isn't just about helping others (though that's a pretty good reason to do it). Grabbing yourself a high-quality content label has direct payoffs for you as well.
When you post Trip Moments with high-quality content, you can earn an extra 10 Trip Coins plus exclusive travel badges. You’ll also unlock even more great travel discounts!
