Universal Studios Hollywood is located at 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City and opens daily from 10:00 AM. Depending on the season, the park closes between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
With around 35,000 visitors on peak days, expect wait times of about 30 minutes for most rides on weekdays, and up to an hour on weekends. Want to skip the lines? The best days to visit are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Top Tip: Head straight to the Lower Lot as soon as the park opens—most visitors start with the Upper Lot, leaving the Lower Lot rides less crowded in the morning.
Before your trip, make sure to download the official Universal Studios Hollywood app. You can link your ticket directly in the app for easy entry, and check wait times for each ride to plan your day efficiently.
Pro Tip: The Upper Lot has more family-friendly rides, while the Lower Lot is where you’ll find the more thrilling attractions.
The most affordable tickets are the General Admission tickets, priced from US$95.52 depending on the season. At the gate, tickets can cost as much as US$139 so it’s best to book online.

If you're visiting for just one day, consider getting Universal Express Tickets. These allow you to skip the line once at each ride, saving a ton of time. Off-peak express tickets start at US$188.19, while peak season tickets go for US$207.10.

By Air:
Burbank Airport (BUR) is the closest domestic airport, just 6 miles away.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the nearest for international flights, about 13 miles away.
By Public Transportation:
- The cheapest option is to take a Metro Local bus (lines 150, 155, 224, 240, or Rapid 750) from Downtown LA to Universal Center Drive.
- For a quicker option, hop on the B Line (Red Line) subway from Union Station in Downtown LA to the Universal City/Studio City Station. Once there, you can either walk across the new pedestrian bridge or take the free park shuttle.
Parking:
Driving to the park? General Parking costs US$30 before 5:00 PM and US$10 after 5:00 PM. If you prefer valet, it’s US$25 for the first two hours, and US$45 for anything over that.
