Suwon Station, originally opened in 1905, was redeveloped in 2002 and 2003 and is now integrated with AK Plaza, a major shopping destination. The station is located near attractions like Hwaseong Fortress and Rodeo Street.

It serves key train lines such as the Gyeongbu Line for KTX, ITX-Saemaeul, and Mugunghwa trains, as well as Seoul Subway Line 1 and the Suin–Bundang Line.
