Travelodge Stoney Cross Lyndhurst

Linda was the only member of staff on duty when we arrived. I had booked a disabled access room as I am a paraplegic in a wheelchair. She explained the travel Lodge does not provide disabled access rooms for families. She suggested that we find another hotel. When I explained that we had travelled a long way, it was late and that maybe she could just put a fold up bed in the room, she said no but you just have the family room. When we got to the family room she explained that me and my wheelchair wouldn't fit in the bathroom. When I explained thats not going to work she huffed and we all had to follow her back to reception. When I asked why she couldn't put a fold up bed in the disabled room she said she would have to call her manager. While on the phone to the manager she said ”they haven't even paid” so I corrected her and asked that she check the system. She then said...oh SHE has! She hung up and then proceed to tell me that in the future I should not book with travel Lodge as they can't forfill my needs. My husband and I were gobsmacked. She went off then went she came back she started to explain the assistance cord reset process. Where she repeated several times that as my husband was with me there would be no need to call for assistance and that she would not attend. The entire time linda spoke to me very slowly which I found extremely offensive. A car accident took my ability to walk it didn't make me deaf or stupid. We have travelled all over the world before and since my accident and this is the 1st time I've been made to feel like such an inconvenience, unwelcome and that I didn't belong! Please provide linda with equality training I believe your future disabled customers will benifit.

Having stayed here many many times pre pandemic we were so excited about returning. Check in was good and the room lovely but the service and food quality was abysmal. We sat in the garden - tried to order drinks at the bar and told it was table service only which is fine if someone took your order! Went into the bar and relied to order 2 drinks with a waitress who said she would have to come to our table for me to order - will give her her due she did follo me to our table! Waited 15 for the drinks. Then ordered our food A rib eye steak and fillet of sea bass with a prawn and clam chowder. This arrived after 10 minutes - the sea bass was completely different from the menu description- apparently we had been given the wrong specials menu so what else did my husband want. He said he would have the original offering as we had been travelling all day and were tired - this was then returned stone cold! My 8oz rib eye steak had at least 45% sinew and was inedible.when the staff came to clear the table I requested a manager - a young lad turned up who just said I see what you mean!! Nothing or no one else seemed to care so we went to bed extremely upset and at a cost of nearly £200 a night we really expected a more professional approach to customers- whilst I appreciate uni students need summer jobs but when there is no one at all supervising the result is dire for a business such as this. We even listened to 2 staff members discussing their uni accommodation etc etc when at least 8 tables were waiting to be served. Breakfast service was totally different- the staff clearly knew what they were doing and did si in an efficient, help, and more importantly, friendly way. Would recommend you go out of school/ uni holidays as no one else is around to ensure the job is done professionally.

Wow - what a place! A truly special hotel, with top-end hospitality and service at its heart. The hotel is approached via a sweeping drive through beautiful grounds, and the friendly and knowledgeable porters are on hand at the door to take your bags and park your car while you check in. The public areas are stunning - including gorgeous lounges, all beautifully furnished and opulently decorated, with a couple of log fires to add to the ambience. Our Junior Suite was huge, with a giant king size bed, sitting area, and a very luxurious bathroom. The shower was awesome! We ate dinner at the Kitchen - the less formal dining venue, at the bottom of the drive (the porters will drive you there, if you don’t fancy the short walk). A relaxed menu (from pizzas and gourmet burgers upwards), at fair prices. Breakfast was without doubt the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. Wonderful cold buffet selection, including premium fruits and top quality orange juice), with hot breakfast items available to order or from the buffet. Excellent kipper! We spent plenty of time in the spa, with its huge hydrotherapy pool, outdoor hot tub and heated loungers. The staff throughout were excellent - professional, efficient and friendly. A fabulous stay!
Burley Manor

Set in such a beautiful tranquil place in the New Forest, Burley Manor exceeded our expectations! Its picturesque front garden with deers running free, to its amazing front entrance of a stunning log burning fire enriched with a beautiful aroma in the air, topped off with a very warm cosy feeling. Could it get any better?... to then be greeted on the front desk by a kind, smiley, happy and funny lady by the name of Marylyn just made us feel at home right away. Once to our room, where its location was just perfect and easy access we entered into a very cosy bright place. The bathroom was gorgeous, its shower was grand and so relaxing and the big sink such a nice touch. Not a bad thing to say about the room... apart from we found it difficult getting out of bed in the morning as it was too comfy as we sleep so well 😀. Burley Manors breakfast, lunch and dinner was all just amazing. Huge thank you to the chefs and kitchen staff for the brilliant food. Lastly the staff were all so lovely and friendly! Keep up the amazing work. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much
