I cannot say enough good about this charming hotel. First of all, I noted on my reservation that I have a serious allergy to mums and requested that we not have any flowers in the room or hallway. I got a call from the staff the day before our visit and she told me that they did have mums in the front foyer, but not in the halls or rooms. I was disappointed knowing that I would have to be medicated if I wanted to enjoy the pub or the beautiful library area, but unfortunately this is my life every fall. When we arrived, there was not a mum in sight! I can only presume they thoughtfully removed them for my safety since they were not where she told me they would be. I was so grateful to be able to enjoy all the beauty of this lovely hotel without concern! And now the review: Lobby- the lobby is lovely, with deep woods and great atmosphere. There is a small gift shop with Irish gifts- shirts, perfumes, jewelry. The lobby leads into the library and some gathering areas- all with beautiful furniture and great views of the hills. You can enter the pub through the lobby and the smell of the food wafting through is amazing! Reception- Since we had made a reservation, checking in was super easy. Due to Covid, check in is express. They charge your card that morning, and hand you an envelope with your receipt, key cards, and all the information you need. Wi-fi password, instructions on setting the thermostat- all necessary information is in the envelope. Very nicely handled. The girl at the front desk was friendly and efficient. Room- Our room faced the hills and had a beautiful view. It was spotless. Furniture was lovely and very comfortable. Windows opened for fresh air when we wanted it. The bedroom was also spotless... King bed and a nice chair to relax in. Jacuzzi tub was also spotless. The pictures on the website are true. The mattress and sheets were extremely comfortable. It was very quiet as well. Bathroom was very clean and a small bottle of sanitizer was a really nice touch. Everything was extremely well maintained. The digital thermostat was easy to set to our preferred temperature and even gave us a read out of the current temperature outside. Breakfast- Due to Covid, breakfast is a bit different than previous times we have stayed here. You choose a time at check-in to come down and get your food. This helps make sure there are never crowds at the small breakfast area. Both days, the breakfast attendant was wonderful. You get freshly made scones, bananas, yogurt, boiled eggs, orange juice and coffee/tea. They ask you whether or not you want each item- I love that. I hate seeing food go to waste, as well as keeping the costs down for the hotel. Pub- The pub had delicious food, served quickly. Due to Covid and another shutdown, we ate in our room. The menu is temporarily limited (again, due to Covid) but has enough that we were able to try several different things during our stay. All were delicious! Other areas- We did not use

Spent a short weekend at the Irish Cottage, and were so pleased we chose this hotel. We really wanted to stay at a B&B, but they were all full, and didn't want to stay at a chain hotel. Although the hotel is on the edge of town, it is very near everything in town. With the direction of the front desk my wife was able to take a nice jog down by the river. The beds were very comfortable, as was the room. There is a nice pub/restaurant in the hotel, but we did not eat there. Hotel provides breakfast, but because of CV, it was delivered to our room. Coffee, OJ, a breakfast burrito, breakfast potatoes, and some fresh made scones. It was delivered right on time that the front desk told us it would be. Served hot. While I am sure that the B&B's are nice, this was a great hotel, and we would stay there again.
