This is the best hotel I have stayed in in Edinburgh, very spacious and clean, very close to the train station, just opposite. What I like most is the toiletries they use, the brand is noble isle, especially the whiskey-scented hand sanitizer. The hotel does not have a front desk, so you need to call and ask for a code before checking in. The good thing is that the check-in time is 3 pm, and we arrived at 1 pm and we were allowed to check in early. However, there is no elevator in the hotel, and the highest floor is on the fifth floor. It may be difficult to get there if you have heavy luggage.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. The first time was in the winter of 2018. The decoration and furniture of the hotel have been upgraded compared to last time. It is clean and tidy and still makes me feel as comfortable as ever.

Opposite the train station is Scotsman. Exit the train station from the market street direction. Cross the road and walk a few steps to the left. You will see a small black door. Click on the intercom and someone will open the door without speaking. Push the door and there will be an elevator. You can Go straight to the front desk. Another way is to go up the stairs next to it. The room is warm and clean, and two free bottles of sparkling water are provided.

I booked a hotel to see Edinburgh Castle, but the room was on the E floor, which was very short. The streetlight pole happened to be in front of the window. Although I could face the castle, the view was very poor. The facilities are old and the faucets are splashing everywhere. Moreover, there are very few sockets, the heating is useless, and the wind blows coldly. The winter in Edinburgh is unbearable.

The hotel is completely British aristocratic style, the room environment is first class, the wash basin is old-fashioned, and it feels great! There are all kinds of old things in the living room. All in all a great hotel, one of the rare ones!

My recent hotel stay was a bit of a mixed experience. While the hotel was clean and well-equipped, there were several issues that detracted from my overall satisfaction. Before arriving, I had communicated with the hotel via email and was told that they could be reached via WhatsApp. However, upon arrival, I was unable to get a response from the hotel on WhatsApp. Additionally, there was no reception area, and check-in had to be done over the phone, which required multiple long-distance phone calls and extra fees. The day before check-in, I received a last-minute email from the hotel requesting a deposit, but they did not provide any information on how to make the payment. Not all of the staff were willing to provide assistance, but the last person I spoke to was patient and helpful, which allowed me to check in smoothly. One major safety concern was that there was a step outside the bathroom, but the floor was not marked, making it easy to trip and fall. Another hazard was the transparent coffee table in the living room, which caused several stumbling incidents that could have led to injuries. Overall, while the hotel was clean and well-maintained, the issues with communication, extra fees, and safety hazards detracted from my experience.

The hotel is two small villas facing each other on the street, with a small outdoor garden (drinking, afternoon tea) There is no front desk, but the service staff is very friendly and provides welcome tea and cookies. The rooms are generally not big, but the facilities inside are very exquisite. The sunlight shining in in the afternoon is beautiful. The toiletries are whiskey-scented, very nice and high-end. The whole building smells delicious Very good service staff Disadvantages: 1. There is no elevator, but the building is not high, the highest is only the third floor. 2. The location is average. It takes nearly half an hour to walk from the city center. Taking an Uber costs about 4-5 pounds. The advantage is that there is a bus at the door.

We had our last night on the Fingal after 2 nights on the royal mile, all staff were very friendly, attentive and made you feel right at home . No pretentious feel at all about the place, which was down to the welcoming staff., accommodation was excellent and highly recommended

Note ⚠️: Entering the first floor gate and the room, you need to enter the activation time of Access Code, Code at 3 pm on the day of check-in, and the expiration time is 11:00 am on the day of check-out. That is to say, you can't get in when you arrive at the hotel before 3 pm on the day of check-in. Because your Access Code is not activated, the input is invalid, and you can be obediently accompanying your beloved suitcase on the street. Check Out time is 11 am, and the cleaning staff will put the cleaning tool at the door of the room early, waiting for the moment you leave the room to clean up. 2) There is no elevator, it is really not easy to carry luggage upstairs, it is recommended that single ladies do not try unless there is no luggage. 3) The sound insulation is very poor. I stayed for two nights. There were no guests in the next room on the first night. I felt acceptable. I didn’t receive too much alarm at night. The next night, there were guests in the next room. They talked and opened the door. We can hear clearly on the footpath, and the sleepy little friends should have a psychological preparation. 4) The noise outside the window is very loud. The window of the room is facing the road, and the siren of the ambulance can be heard no less than ten times a night, and it is particularly harsh. In the evening, there will be a group of drunk people who are loudly ”showing their heart” downstairs, walking a wave, and coming again. No less than five waves a night. It didn't quiet down until 3 a.m. 5) Toothbrush and toothpaste are not provided in the room, and there are no disposable slippers. It is recommended that the friends who are going to stay bring their own.
