The hotel was one recommended by British Airways and we chose it for several reasons. It’s all inclusive, adults only and a quieter hotel. It has two pools and at no point we’re either too busy. One pool has a well stocked self-service bar (although the glasses could be replenished more often) and the other has a terrace bar/restaurant open until 6pm for larger snacks (hot dog & fries, fish & chips etc). There are two other restaurants. The Terrace is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it has a bar when serving food from lunchtime onwards. The other restaurant, Hummingbird, is indoor and air conditioned. It is only open in the evening, serving a four course meal and needs to be pre-booked but we did this in the mornings we fancied a change without problems. Whilst it is situated just above Castries, both the road and heat make it unadvisable to walk. The hotel offers an hourly free shuttle service to the town or Vigie Beach. You can book your outgoing and return journey. Every single member of staff was welcoming and friendly. We simply cannot fault the hotel at all. Most tour companies, for island tours, were happy to pick up and drop off at the hotel, which made it very easy to go outside Castries and its environs. It was lovely to see Bananaquits and humming birds at the feeders (the Lesser Antilles Bullfinches were too keen on your crumbs near the tables!) All in all a wonderfully relaxing 10 days and we don’t regret anything. Thank you Bel Jou.

This hotel made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. The hotel is very well run. The staff all seem to be happy to work there. The views are stunning as the hotel is located at the top of a steep hill overlooking a beautiful wooded area with views of the sea beyond that. The food is unpretentious but delicious with something for all tastes. It's possible to eat healthily or, if you prefer, to be more hedonistic. The hotel is quiet and it's difficult to walk anywhere because the roads outside the hotel are very hilly and don't always have pavements. But the hotel offers a free shuttle to the beach and Castries. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning was great and needed at night as the temperature doesn't drop much after nightfall. There is entertainment at the hotel during the day and evening, organised by Jahfree who's very informative about the island. We got to know several staff members by name and, despite having only 10 days there they felt like friends.
