2024 Reviews: Gunflint Lodge Reviews from Real Guests.

We booked our vacation months ago with the hopes of seeing Northern Lights in this beautiful location. We knew at the time that anything could happen with weather conditions, solar flares and 100 other variables. While the adverse conditions with total cloud cover, snow and no solar activity blew our hopes for seeing the light show. With that being said we had a wonderful vacation in spite of the disappointment of the lights. From the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out everything exceeded our expectations. Our cabin was well stocked with the everyday items that were needed, it was also spotless and very comfortable. The meals were fantastic and more than enough food to feed even the biggest appetites. Our servers over the few days were Amber and Sam, you couldn't ask for better service than what these folks provided. They were very personable and were there for anything we needed. We also went to a presentation given by Leif, the naturalist on site, and it was very informative and very well presented. We took our dog with us and she enjoyed the walks in the area with all the new smells and things to see. I think she felt at home with her ancestors in the area, she walks a little prouder now. We would highly recommend staying at the Gunflint Lodge with all of the history and beautiful location as well as the wonderful people that are employed here. We will be back!

We had a fantastic family vacation at Gunflint Lodge! The first special encounter was with Leif at the lodge who gave us a wonderful history of the lodge and the geography of the land and lakes with maps, artifacts and framed historic articles about the owner Justine. The gift shops were filled with quality, thoughtful items. The lodge was restored beautifully and our accommodations were beyond our wildest expectations! There was a outdoor jacuzzi, indoor sauna, a brick and stone pizza stove and beautiful landscaping and views of the lake. Our naturalist tour was so engaging with Eric. He took us to a breathtaking scenic overlook at sunset and showed us varieties of mushrooms and berries. He then invited us to a bonfire at the beach with astronomy star gazing of the milky way, falling stars and a sing along. When it rained, we had indoor fire places, games and art making. When it was sunny we kayaked, canoed, horseback rode and hiked. We only wished we were there longer and can't wait to go back for a trip to the boundary waters and magnetic lake and Canada right across the lake! Thank you to the staff and owners of Gunflint Trails Lodge! What a perfect up north vacation!

Ryan and Graham were excellent , we felt safe and confident. They both calm voices which left us feeling at ease. This was our first time and because of the experience we will be back. The view was stunning , the view were amazing. We would recommend to all that they should experience this.

At the top of the gun Flint trail is this quaint little resort where we stopped and rented a small fishing boat and enjoyed the beautiful lake and scenery. Then we had dinner on the deck overlooking the lake and could not have been treated any better. From the front desk staff, wait staff and KC helping with the boats all professional and very friendly. Wanting something a little different from hiking, head up and enjoy the beautiful waters and some good food.

Had a great dinner and breakfast. Bella our waitress was so kind and attentive with our family. Thanks for a great time. The walleye shore lunch, duck wontons and the walleye cakes were great. My old fashion was good and the beer selection was local and great.
