The place was amazing. We loved everything about it. From the surprising meals to the ranch. Guest ranch workers were so friendly. Horses were great. Owners and staff were friendly. Heat this time of year was hard but other than that- I definitely want to come back but when cooler. Do everything you can they offer while here. It’s a great experience. Honor system is great and easy. Seriously was a great vacation!

Our drive to the STGR started with some concern. The directions provided were "spot on" but they failed to mention you would be driving on roughly 15 miles of unpaved road. Unsure, we continued to follow the directions which led us to the start of a great stay. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by JP who helped us get situated in our "Navajo" room. The Navajo was aptly decorated and was very comfortable. Since we arrived mid-afternoon, we opted for the 5 pm horseback ride before dinner. Niko was our guide who took us out through the desert trails. It was a beautiful ride and a great way to get a feel for what the ranch had to offer. That was followed by a wonderful dinner of pulled pork and several sides then some relaxing around the fire. The next day started with a breakfast of fried eggs, home fries, bacon, fruit, toast, cereal, etc.. Each day we walked around to ranch seeing the variety of animals and enjoying the beautiful sites. The day was quite warm 100+ degrees, so much of the day was spent at the pool. The pool is perfectly situated on the property that allows for both shade and sun whichever you prefer. The pool water was quite refreshing. In the afternoon, after having Chicken Gyros for lunch (that were awesome), we went on a stagecoach ride led by Tristan. That was a great ride as Tristan provided a wealth of information about the ranch, neighboring ranches, and other highlights too numerous to mention. Day two at the ranch we had an excellent steak dinner followed by an excellent peanut butter pie made by JP's wife Tricia. We again followed that up with a seat by the fire and some card games and shooting pool. Our final day started with an early horseback ride with Niko, French toast breakfast and a walk around the property before it was time to leave. This was our final stop on a 3 leg vacation which is why the short stay. We are very glad we added the STGR to our itinerary as it was the perfect way to end our vacation. We were floored by the exceptional food quality and meal preparation by Kat and Luke. It was way beyond expectation! Any and every encounter we had with JP and Tricia or Tristan and Mae made you feel like you belonged and were part of the family. I would highly recommend staying at the STGR if you're looking for a great getaway!

My brothers and I came over to celebrate one of our birthdays as a boys trip from Australia. We went not really knowing what to expect, but left feeling like we were a part of the family. JP, Trish, Tristan, Mae, the wranglers Niko and Dina, the chefs Kat and Luke, Kiah, and every other employee were all so welcoming and polite. There was no part of our stay that wasn't filled with fun and laughter. From massive breakfast and lunch meals to gourmet dinners and whiskey around the campfire, everything was authentic, genuine, and perfect. We rode most days, shot plenty of guns, went out in the Humvee, swam in the pool, and were able to relax and enjoy what life had to offer. No cars, no technology, no busy work days, just fun, laughter, and family. This was a trip we will never forget. Special thanks to Tristan and Mae (and Kinsley of course) who went above and beyond to make us feel like a part of the family. I only just landed back in Australia and I am already trying to figure out when I can return with my kids so they can experience life the way it should be, without all the distractions of the modern world. I cant wait to return. Thank you doesn't seem enough for what you guys did for us, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you! Chris

Thank you, thank you to Tricia and JP, Tristan and Mae, Niko and Dina, Kat & Luke and April for providing such a peaceful and relaxing stay. You truly understand how to make your guests feel welcome and at home. Your ranch has everything you could possibly want and is in a beautiful desert setting. The riding was superb; Mae and Niko and Dina made sure we had just the right horse for our level of skill. Kat and Luke prepared delightful meals and even took into account my garlic allergy with separately prepared, delicious entrees. You taught us so much about riding, target shooting and relaxing and leaving the craziness of our hectic lives behind us.

From the moment we arrived at the ranch we couldn't have been more warmly welcomed and well looked after. The ranch motto is that you arrive as friends and leave as family and it couldn't be truer. JP and Tricia along with Tristan and Mae and their fantastic Wranglers and staff did an amazing job. The food was fantastic (thanks to Kat and Luke), the horse riding incredible (thanks to Mae, Nico, Dina and Corah), the ATV and shooting activities were unforgettable (thanks to Tristan) and JP and Tricia were consummate hosts. The accomodate was really comfortable with a nice bathroom and aircon which was needed in the 115 degrees heat. There was a lovely pool area with some shade and the main lodge and dining room were really comfortable and encouraged guests to mingle and get to know each other. We loved the 'Sunsets Over' cannon ably loaded by JP and fired by a guest each evening. Before we left home for the holiday we talked about a once in a lifetime experience but after staying here it is absolutely certain that we'll be going back! Thanks again from the Clark family from Devon, UK.
