|0.29km from city centerThe small fridge in the room automatically shuts off after 2 hrs and doesn't stay at a safe temperature to store breast milk. The front desk advised to just use an ice bucket. This is problematic because (1) you will have to continually refill the ice bucket and (2) there is limited capacity. After an escalation to the manager, they offered to hold my milk behind the front desk in their fridge. I am not comfortable with that ”solution” nor do I want to go back and forth to the front desk for my baby's bottles and milk storage. He advised they previously provided medical fridges but they currently do not do so. I am so beyond disappointed. I expected so much more from this brand and now have to figure out something to do with my milk for my exclusively breast fed baby. Ugh, don't they have mother's stay at this property!? Marriott, do better!

|1.85km from city centerThe hotel has a good location, just beside Michigan Avenue, and convenient to all major attractions in Chicago. The hotel environment is also very good. It is quiet and clean. The space is large enough. There is sufficient hot water supply, but there is no hot water to drink. We brought our own heat The most distinctive feature of the kettle for boiling water is the hotel’s robots, which can deliver water and daily necessities, which are available on demand, great! We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but there are many restaurants around, which are very convenient. The waiters in the hotel are very good and the service is very warm and thoughtful. Our trip felt very good, the price was affordable and the process was comfortable!

|2.65km from city centerMy sisters and I live in Chicago (I live 10 minutes away from the hotel). We wanted to take a quick staycation. The Sable is near a lot of iconic and historic places in Chicago. The hotel was to live for!!! The staff was absolutely amazing!!! Contemporary furniture, an amazing bathroom, and comfortable rooms. The views were priceless inside and outside the hotel. We walked everywhere. There are bars, restaurants, stores, boat tours, entertainment, etc... within walking distance of the hotel. Awesome would be an understatement!

|2.86km from city centerIt’s a nice hotel. The room was very clean. Check-in was no problem. Very nice to us. It was just the parking was a block and a half away. But we did find a parking spot on the street on the opposite side of the block. You can drop your stuff off in front of the hotel and check in before you go find your parking. Lots of places to go eat in the area. I’m not sure but I think this is part of Chinatown. If not it’s right next to it . We definitely stay again.

|0.74km from city centerThe hotel is located in a downtown area and is convenient for travel. The room is located on the sixth floor. The windows have poor sound insulation and the sound of car horns can be heard. Only half of the shower room in the room is separated by glass, and there is no door, so some water splashes onto the floor. The experience was not good and I will not stay at this hotel again.

|1.27km from city centerWe stayed for the weekend and were not disappointed. I’m one of those people that do tons of research before choosing a hotel. This one is priced well and is so cozy and welcoming. We stayed in one of the city view rooms which I would totally recommend. The night before I got a notification on the Hilton app saying it’s time to choose my room and I was able to choose a corner room with a view of the city on both sides and it was quite large. Being able to choose your room and know which one you’ll be in when you arrive is great. This hotel is in a great spot and only a few minute walk to an L train station for all of your transportation needs. The neighborhood is pretty quiet from what I saw. We loved the full size pump bottles in the bathroom of body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and hand soap. The front desk staff was always welcoming and answered any questions I had. I would recommend the skyline room. We stayed in room 1815 and had a great view of the city. The only downsides were that the windows were quite dirty and the parking garage was tiny but I understand those aren’t necessarily problems that can be fixed easily. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone else looking for a place to stay in Chicago.

A big shout out to Carlos who graciously greeted us and was one of the finest front desk agents at a Hilton. He suggested 5th floor which placed above minor street noise. Hilton included breakfast was so so but not a surprise. Numerous restaurants were in easy walking distance of hotel. Would not hesitate to stay on next visit.

|2.3km from city centerStrong praise! First of all, the pillows are very comfortable. The first hotel pillow allows me to sleep without neck pain. Secondly, the slippers and bathrobe are great! No need to call the front desk to take off your shoes. Next, the coffee machine has great reviews, lots of cups and lots of different flavors. The hotel room is very spacious and has a Bluetooth speaker. Very comfortable!
Service: Very considerate, the front desk staff are very warm and considerate.
Facilities: There is no dining in the hotel, there is a bathtub and shower in the room, and the toilet is very spacious.
Cleanliness: Very clean and the bed is very comfortable.

|2.71km from city centerThe hotel is very clean and tidy. The biggest feature of the room is the floor-to-ceiling windows. The scenery outside the window is very clear. Although there is no bustling Michigan Avenue, it is still good! There is a bar on the 18th floor of the hotel, not big. The hotel has a restaurant on the left side of the hotel entrance, named Somerset, in the room can also book this restaurant in the room dinning, about twenty or thirty minutes to deliver the meal to the room. I really like the bathroom's minimalist wash suit, which is white tea, especially fragrant and comfortable. Shopping, dining and entertainment are nearby. Not far from there are Chinese restaurants, such as Imperial Lamian, Old Sichuan, MingHin Cuisine, Shanghai Terrance, which are just a few minutes from Uber. Royal chef and old Sichuan are very popular! It is also 10 minutes from the hotel to the famous scenic spot Michigan Avenue, which is also close to Navy Pier and Millennium Park. The fly in the ointment is that the sound insulation in the hotel is not good, the guests from the opposite side of the room can hear the opening of the door, but the overall is good!

|0.34km from city centerThis was our first visit to Kimpton Gray in Chicago, IL. My husband & I stayed for 2 nights (Friday & Saturday) & used 76k IHG rewards points (the price later went up to 122k, so book early!). ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: We arrived before check-in, but thankfully our room type was available. ROOM: Prior to arrival, I called & emailed the hotel to request early check-in, a quiet room on an upper floor & possible room upgrade. Thanks to my Diamond Elite status, they placed us in a 1 King Premium Deep Soaking Tub. Unfortunately, they could not accomodate the high floor request, so we were assigned room #601. I appreciated the welcome amenity of Acqua Panna Natural Spring Waters & dark chocolate w/ sea salt. • Amenities: Coffee maker & mini refrigerator. You can request a microwave be delivered to your room free of charge. • Bath: Plenty of hot water & decent pressure. The soaking tub is divine! • Bed: Bed & pillows both very comfortable • Cleanliness: So so. I called housekeeping upon arrival to request the team vacuum our room & wipe down surfaces. I also requested a freshen up the next day. Both were taken care of! • Decor: Average. A bit tattered around some edges (see photo of mini fridge). I did like the accent wall behind the tub though. • Heating/cooling: Worked well • Sound: Mostly quiet. The hotel does appear to host a lot of events, so there were a few loud guests walking the halls late at night. • TV: Average; no movie channels that I recall • View: A building & street • WiFi: Worked well DRINKS/FOOD: • No free breakfast offered • Boleo was closed both evenings for private events, so we could not check-out or enjoy the rooftop bar. We tried to use our $20 raid-the-bar credit at Vol. 39 on Saturday at 8:30 PM, but the bar was also closed. Thankfully, a front desk rep allowed us to grab $20 worth of snacks. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Good. We especially loved being able to contact the team via text! Super convenient. LOCATION/PARKING: Prime location. Parking not needed. OTHER: • Note: You can not use the Kimpton $30 spa credit as the hotel contracts out their spa services. • No pool Would I recommend/stay again? Not likely for full price if paying cash* (vs points). *Rates in October for this room seem to run $467.31 - $556.54/night on a Friday & Saturday. Although location is central, customer service is good & bed soft, the hotel is lacking in 4-star amenities, particularly for a Kimpton property.

|1.48km from city centerTLDR - They gave away our confirmed room, barely seemed to care, and basically did nothing to fix. Group of 8 friends from around the country came into Chicago to see Pearl Jam and catch a ballgame. We had confirmed our 4 double rooms, had our credit card on file, checked in via the app, exchanged messages on the app, and responded to an email asking if we were confirmed. So when we came at 5pm and they said they had 3 rooms and one them was a king (vs. two doubles) we were very disappointed. Carla the front desk manager and Dacquan the front desk staff shared there was a problem…they overbooked and every room was taken and booked in so we were out of luck. Neither of them seemed to care at all. We were offered ‘air mattresses’ (terrible, poor quality) and 20 vouchers for a breakfast that we came to find out had a 90 minute wait then next morning. They claimed to have tried to find another room at another hotel but didn’t show any evidence of it. No apologies, no sincerity just a ‘whoops sucks for you’. Terrible experience and customer service. Honestly shocked that this is allowed to be a Marriott property. Gold member and stayed at 100’s of Marriotts through my many years of business and personal travel. Avoid or know they will screw you over at any moment.

|0.49km from city centerWe got to the hotel at around 7am from Seattle and it’s our first time in Chicago. Overall the workers in the hotel they are so helpful and accommodating. Specially Anastasia and Enrique they helped us out with the parking and stuff to see in downtown Chicago. We ate at the bar that night and the bartender was so helpful. We know that he was busy but he was still nice. We had a good experience in this hotel and can’t wait to go back with the whole family. The location was convenient you don’t need to rent a car. The train is just there as soon as you leave your hotel. Shopping is just around the corner. The coffee at the goddess is a must. The bean is just a block away. We really enjoyed staying in this hotel and will visit again soon. Thanks again to Anastasia and Enrique you made our stay memorable.

|1.6km from city centerFirstly, let me say that this property is not clear about it being a hostel. It is better suited to the under 25 crowd that could care less about niceties and a typical hotel quality experience. We were unaware and booked having been lured in by the eccentric styling and bright pictures. We had no idea what we were getting into. We booked into a premium king room. Upon entry, we went to go open the blinds and realized they were being rigged with a shower curtain rod instead of being replaced. The bed took up the room in its entirety. A postage stamp really. To our astonishment, we had a view of a dilapidated parking garage. The room itself had zero space, and the pictures posted of our rooms’ desk was a literal catfish as the space was nothing like it was advertised. Mind you, we opted to upgrade into this space at a much greater expense. $100 more. We went down to front desk to ask for another room, and even offered to pay more if that’s what we needed to do. We are not the kind of people looking for more for nothing. We were given the option to take a Queen room as our only option, and although a downgrade the view was promised to be less depressing. We took the new keys without an adjustment in price, which we assumed would happen. When we got up to the new room, we were surprised that it was actually smaller. Seriously, my bathroom at home is larger. When we opened the blinds here, we were literally half crying and laughing in sheer frustration by what we saw. The window had imbedded chicken wire throughout, and the whole top half was distorted glass, completely blocking any vision to the outside. As if that weren’t enough, the glass was completely cracked throughout. I’ll glaze over the 3sq feet of carpeting that was horrifically stained and de-threaded, the chipped worn furnishings, the antiquated tv that had no streaming, the ants crawling alongside the bed and the stained ceilings. It’s only saving grace was the bathroom which was decent, clean and had good style. This hotel/hostel was more expensive than the AC Marriott, Aloft and many other good, clean and trusted establishments. Upon checkout, we spoke to a woman at front desk and asked when we could expect the difference refunded. I approached calm and kind, and she rebutted with attitude, f-bombs (like actual repeated effs!!!) and rancor. I remained calm, yet persistent. She literally threw me to the manager, Emmanuel who was mild mannered and had no insults. He quickly understood what I requested and he assisted in refunding the difference. The woman, however needs anger management courses and a solid instruction on how to treat guests. She should definitely choose a different job she actually likes. I won’t mention her name because karma will sort that one out itself. In closing, it’s safe to say that I would never stay here again. Based purely on the front desk departure experience alone.

|3.19km from city centerIn Chinatown, it is very convenient for Chinese business travelers with a Chinese stomach. The environment and sanitation are very good, but there is no mineral water and disposable slippers, and the sanitation is only to make the bed once every 2 days. I stayed for 6 nights and did not do a lot of sanitation. The hair falling on the ground is always there. It is very close to Mccormick place, and it is a little farther away. It is not particularly easy to call a taxi. In addition, the air conditioner is quite loud

Chicago
|0.94km from city centerFor business travelers, this spot is perfectly situation along the Northeast end of the Loop, meaning that you can get to River North by foot and the convention center via the L easily. The checkin process was great, and the staff were friendly. I was surprised by the $25/night resort fee at checkin (the place aint' a resort), but the clerk gave me a free drink voucher and handful of free breakfast vouchers that I used at the coffee shop each morning, which helped reduce the overall shock to the system. (The coffee shop does a mean chai latte and is a nice place to work on a laptop if you're early for checkin.) The vibe of the hotel itself is pretty sweet. If you're into bright colors and neon sign, then this place is for you. The rooftop bar gets a little clubby in the evening, so if that's not your scene, then arrive when the sun is still out. The room itself was lovely and clever—I liked the sliding doors that separated the bathroom/closet area from the bedroom. Overall, would def stay here again if I'm back in Chicago.

Chicago
|12.95km from city centerThis place is better than the typical big city motel/motor hotel, it is older but not worn. It was clean, no smells and no bugs. Hot water pressure was good, and individually-controlled central air conditioning worked well. The room had a table with 2 chairs, a separate small desk with chair, and the room and bathroom were plenty big not cramped. Despite being on a main street, it was quiet other than the occasional siren, and there was no noise from rooms next door or other guests outside. It was under $100/night with free parking, a bargain for Chicago. The CTA Red Line train is a 15-minute walk away, and we always felt safe in this neighborhood. There is a Starbucks and White Castle Hamburgers down the block. A downside is that there is no online reservation system, you must call. You get no email confirmation, just a credit card receipt upon payment, which is required at check-in, along with a $5 room key deposit. It is a basic room: no coffeemaker, frig or microwave oven, but there is cable TV. There is no Continental Breakfast, although it is listed on their website and on a sign on their building. The room has a standard double bed (not King or Queen), so may be too narrow or short for some couples, and it is a bit uncomfortable but tolerable. There is no elevator, but 50% of the rooms are on the ground level. If you want to charge your cellphone on the nightstand bring an extension cord, as the only outlets are on the side walls. This motel is just fine for a short stay in Chicago, as long as your expectations aren’t too high and all you want is a clean and convenient location.

|2.18km from city centerHotel is very nice and kept up well. The only reasons I have three stars include lack of parking, lack of towels in the room and lack of plates, bowls and flatware at breakfast. On arrival, the check in process was smooth and staff was friendly. We received bottled water. Parking was non existent. Apparently the hotel has only 20 spots for more than 200 rooms. They have no arrangements for off site parking. Though parking is at a premium in Chicago, this is ratio of available parking spots is not reasonable. It took close to 45 minutes to find a parking spot, in front of the McDonalds Hamburger University. In our room, there were no towels of any kind. We asked for towels and they were brought up promptly. Breakfast was sufficient, but at the time we were there, 9-930a, plates bowls and flatware were always missing and weren’t replenished for prolonged periods of time. The room with kitchenette and sofa bed was well kept and clean. It was quite roomy for our family of five. Only complaint was the loud music from a neighboring building that was heard by our room’s outside wall.

|1.69km from city centerWe stayed at ES mag mile in October. There were 2 couples and since we arrived early morning I called ahead and paid 35$ to have a early check in in one of our rooms. Only one was available for that. We appreciated being able to leave our luggage, freshen up and do a little exploring. I have to say we were only able to do one complimentary morning breakfast since it ended at 9:30. It was fine and a basic breakfast. We did not have to wait long and there was seating. The evening social was pretty sp**** and really no more than salsa, chips and a few veggie sticks. Our room was dated but we had a comfortable bed and a pretty good view of the river from the 11th floor. Water pressure was low and the bathroom lighting was very dim. I did makeup in the room window for light. Overall the room was clean and mostly quiet( noisy neighbor) and we rested well. People were nice and as helpful as possible.

Rooms are quiet, albeit dated. The only downfall was parking to check in, and then parking to stay. You'll likely have to use the parking ramp behind the hotel unless you're lucky enough to find street parking: if you enter the alley immediately after the hotel, you'll need to do a Y turn to get into the ramp. One thing I'd like to see changed is that they don't fill the fridge with beverages (no room for late-night pizza leftovers), and a microwave in the room would have been nice. If you're looking for a room with all the amenities of a ”chain” hotel, this isn't it. It's basic necessities. I would stay again. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
