It's a very good, clean and neat place. The location is near ernakulam junction railway station and maharajas metro station. It's an old style building which is interesting. They have bunk beds with blanket provided with and without ac. You have the space to lock your belongings under your bed with a key. Common toilets and bathrooms are clean. They have a work/study area on the top floor, which also is pretty good. You have a personal light and a usb charging point beside your bed. There is a water purifier for drinking water. The staffs are good and helpful. There is wifi i guess, but i didn't have the need to use it so can't comment on it. Two things though, 1) there are no curtains for the beds. It is needed for privacy and for blocking the light in the night in case someone turns on the light. That's a problem 2) there are mosquitos in the read/work area and most of the interior. I took the ac dormitory so no mosquitoes in there. But except there everywhere you can expect mosquitoes. Overall i had a great time ) suggestions to the owner: 1) fix curtains for all the beds 2) attach mosquito net for every windows in every floor

Totally wonderful stay at Ballard Bungalow. It is a beautiful old Dutch Colonial building. Absolutely perfect location .The owner Marcus is charming, helpful , very knowledgeable and all the activities and transport he arranged for us was efficient and the right price. Glorious large heritage type rooms. Good Wi Fi, Air Con, Hot Water, Breakfast. The double rooms have huge beds that can be split to make singles if required. Just great value for money and ”location location” . Would not hesitate to book again or recommend to friends.

I stayed here for three weeks. This is a good value budget option. The hotel is very centrally located and is a safe place to stay. My room was medium sized and I was supplied with a kettle on request. There was a small outside balcony with no view to speak of. There was no fridge. The A/C was very efficient, as was the WiFi. Water was supplied daily. This place is very clean- well done to the hard-working staff who were all delightful: consistently very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended!

Ok, where do I start off? Arrival: George welcomed us to their homestay and took the time to answer all questions we had and more. He is a very friendly, honest and patient *** with a ”Can Do” attitude. After speaking to him, we knew: were, what, when, how and how much. The Room: Very clean room with AC and Ceiling fan, good shower and plenty of warm water. There also seemed to be a little kitchen we didn't use which might be handy for some guests. Hospitality: George & Daisy are some of the nicest people you will meet on this planet. Very caring & honest. I was sick for some of my stay and Daisy nursed me back to health with some homemade remedies. George had some tips on medicine and within 2 days I was back to feeling ay okey! They saved our trip to Kerala. Thank you so much. I can recommend Elim Homestay to anyone visiting Kochi. 5 stars across the board!

We like staying at homestays where we can have a glimpse of the local life. The stay at the Mother's Inn Homestay exceeded all our expectations. Suria did an outstanding job by arranging a car for us from Alleppey, ordering tuk-tuks, making sure that we are comfortable and have everything we need. Telma and Jancy cooked delicious breakfasts and introduced the local Kerala vegetarian dishes to us. Anil helps in the kitchen and around the house in addition to the main job - keeping the garden in wonderful shape. The entire team is always smiling, singing and taking care of us. We definitely will miss the time we spent at this lovely historical house. Highly recommend!

Bastian and Gina made me very welcome, even coming out to the main road to meet me when the taxi driver from the Airport couldn't find the address. The HomeStay is located down a narrow alleyway off KC Jacob Road, so it is easier to arrive during daylight hours if you can. The location was only a 10 minute walk away from the sea and even closer to the Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica which is a good landmark to use for returning from your local adventures if using a tuktuk. The WiFi was excellent and breakfast was good, but only available between 8 am and 10 am. Bastian helped me get a local sim card which was really useful and helped arrange backwater trips for guests putting people in contact with others wanting to do the same trip to keep the costs down. The room is basic but comfortable. If I return to Kochi, I will have no hesitation booking Bastian HomeStay again.

Hey dear traveller, I went to Zostel kochi during my initial days of backpacking and I had absolutely amazing experience with Zostel fort kochi and the hosts are really amazing people, the ambience and other stuffs in the property are really cool for the backpackers. The best thing I felt is card games and rooftop is a really nice space to chill-out. If you love exploring some historical places and some amazing art cafe's that depicts the ancient culture and tradition of kochi, the Zostel kochi will be a great place to be. There are a lots of places to explore in kochi and close to kochi. I highly recommend Zostel kochi for the people planning to make a destination in kochi. Cleanest accomodation so far in India! Good shower pressure, good bed, did I mention clean? Water available to fill your water bottle… Was lucky to have the room entirely for myself for one night as no other guest showed, and when someone did it was still comfortable even if he was on the top bed as mine. Perhaps a bit excesively cold when AC and fan are running, but hey that’s Asia’s usual when staying at a hostel. You come to Asia to escape the cold and end up sleeping with a blanket. And getting horrible sore throats, and dryness from excesive AC. Staff was correct and helpful. Location was unbeatable! Will stay again in December.

Although it has been a year since we visited we remember with great fondness our wonderful stay with Poly and Jessy at the Cherai Beach residency. We visited in February 2023. They were always so helpful and happy to arrange trips and give us local knowledge. They were always around if you needed help. The pool was superb but the beach drew us every day. The sunbeds were always available and it was only used by the guests so it felt quite private. The sea was warm and calm, and we particularly enjoyed watching the different animals ( birds) and enjoying the sunset every evening. Our rooms were air-conditioned, with a fridge and a balcony facing the beach which was a real treat. Poly found us a driver to take us to different places and activities, and he would be with us all day at our disposal. Their local knowledge was invaluable, if we needed something, they would find it for us. There are a couple of Ayurveda centers at walking distance, and I had the best massages ever! The ladies did a head-to-toe massage by applying different oils and it was amazing. I also had yoga classes and meditation. The locals were so friendly and warm, and loved taking pictures with us! we loved the shopping centre Lulu Mall was fabulous, we only planned to go one day but ended one going three times! We highly recommend Cherai Beach, make sure you book in advance, especially if you are after the premium rooms.

I’m a British/ Australian female traveller who visited India for the first time with my Partner. Kerala is the first place we visited and I was incredibly impressed with how clean, safe and comfy the homestay was. It is in the perfect location, very short walking distance to Princess street. The hosts are incredibly friendly, they helped me with my washing and also made us two delicious homemade breakfasts. The air conditioning worked really well and there is also a fan. Will recommend this place to any traveller and I would definitely stay here again.
