|0.43km from city centerIt is right by the beach. It's quiet and has a delicious breakfast. I personally took the bus here and it was easy to come to and from this location. In respect to where I was going, I think it was a good deal. I got to enjoy the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and my trip went really well.

|6.08km from city centerLocated in South Korea City, near Hollywood, there are buses, subways, there are large supermarkets nearby, especially the intensive restaurants are touched when the travel is hungry. Nearby is the wealthy area and the streets are clean. There is a refrigerator in the room, a microwave in the public area, and it’s a pleasant way for the supermarket to buy something to heat up. When I go back in the evening, I often have my own hot food. Cheap, cost-effective. Nice hotel.

|5.91km from city centerTo be honest, I was nervous because there weren't many Korean reviews, but the price was so reasonable that I made a reservation. 70,000 won for 3 days and 2 nights is too cheap for a traveler without money haha.. Here is an honest review for Koreans!
(Advantages)
1. Good price
I made a reservation for about 36,000 won per night. About a month before departure
I made a reservation through Trip.com, and when I checked on *******, the price was similar, but Trip.com was slightly cheaper due to the airline ticket-linked promotion.
It was cheaper than a Korean motel (even though it was a shared room...) and there was no additional cost at all that I was worried about. It ends with the amount you reserved! It's so true.
However, there is no additional charge if you bring your own lock/towel. Because I need it
If you ask at the counter, they will probably lend you towels for $2 each.
If you want to stay at Loomis Hostel, a padlocked towel is a must!!!
2. Excellent cleanliness
Because of the price, I almost wanted to give up on cleanliness.
The condition of the bed and bedding were all flawless.
To be honest, I thought it would be a bit dirty, but it wasn't like that at all.
Bathrooms are also really important, but there are so many bathrooms.
There is no need to wait and the many restrooms are kept clean.
I really liked it. I think the host is probably a bit sensitive to cleanliness.
A cleaning person comes every morning and cleans each and every bathroom.
They clean it.. For a hostel in this price range, the cleanliness is really good.
It's great!
3. Convenience of transportation
I'm a student traveler with no money, so I never call Uber wherever I go.
I used public transportation. Bus stop (where you can go to Lax)
There is one within 3-5 minutes.
There is a subway station and a bus stop within a 15-minute walk (you can go to Hollywood), and the road is large and wide, so it's not dangerous and I think it's a great location to use public transportation. I travel around LA using buses and subways, and the cost of travel is less than $20 :)
The map is so good that it's easy to find.
I took a bus from LA Airport to the hostel, which took a little over an hour.
4. Other advantages
- You can make foreign friends (As an extreme introvert, it was my first time traveling alone, so I felt a bit lonely, but I had one good friend who actively talked to me. There is a meeting place near the front desk and kitchen. If you feel lonely, go and join in the conversation. People from various cultures come together to create good synergy.)
- Breakfast provided!! To poor me lol.. a ray of light… It makes no sense to even provide breakfast at this price.. There are 4 slices of bread per person, coffee, pancakes (I can't see anyone making them...), Nutella and peanut butter, etc. It's a good way to fill up your stomach!
- It's not an advantage, but the tip is as mentioned above.
Personal lock / Multiple personal towels depending on the number of days / Required.!!
+I think it would be good to have a plastic bag to store things.
+ About a wet tissue..? I don’t know about anything else, but don’t forget your padlock towel ~~
(disadvantage)
1. I don’t have my own space(?)
It's so obvious, but it's not just my room like a motel or hotel.
There are bound to be some uncomfortable things.
Guests sharing a room snore,
Either they are people who do **, or they are active early in the morning and come in noisily...
If you don't wash well or have sensitive senses of smell, hearing, etc., use a little more.
It can be hard.
(The person named ** came in on the last night of my stay.
It was difficult because the smell was a bit unpleasant.. haha)
Still, there is a screen for all the needles, so I use that.
It's okay to use AirPods or earplugs! It’s a hostel!!
2. Luggage storage
This is related to not having my own space.
It is stored in a shared locker with a lock.
For things like suitcases that are too bulky to fit, just store them anywhere in the room.
I store it in the lobby, but honestly, even if there is a lock on the suitcase, I feel a little uneasy. Someone could take it away, and to be honest, you can just cut the lock off... A part-timer who works in the hostel lobby said that at first.
Since there is no CCTV and it is a bit dangerous, the most important thing is that you have no choice but to manage your luggage thoroughly haha..! You really have to pay close attention and take good care of yourself!!
Despite all these shortcomings, I strongly recommend it to student travelers like me who have no money or who want to travel cheaply. I think it's great enough for this price. I am 10000000% willing to visit again. As long as you are not too sensitive and take good care of yourself, it is a perfect accommodation with no accidents at all!
I hope this detailed review was helpful and have a safe and happy trip!
If you have any questions about travel-related accommodations,
Please email siiinyo0406@Naver! kindly !!
I'll give you an answer. I hope it helps Koreans.
thank you !

|10.37km from city centerSamesun hostel was perfectly located along Hollywood boulevard. The hostel provided a very good breakfast and coffee setup which could set you up for the day ahead. Hostel was generally clean, there could be a little wait for showers in the morning with only 3 showers available in a very big hostel. Has a good common area with vending machines and a pool table.

|12.74km from city centerThis commented that the comments worried that the attitude of the homeowner was only fixed for one night. Later, I went to the hotel and found that the owner was very friendly. Although the Indian accent was difficult to understand, it was very enthusiastic to help us solve the problem. The breakfast was quite good, yogurt coffee, and a mint cheesecake made me very impressed. If you are in the location, you can walk from Universal Studios for ten minutes, but the road is a bit hard to find.

|0.79km from city centerMy experience was very great! This was my first ever solo trip and my first stay at a hostel. The staff was very accommodating and the room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and I loved the amenities that you get with the room. For a cheap price you get a lot more than just a dorm. You get things like a outdoor common area, a very nice kitchen, indoor common areas and sometimes events like comedy night, and a free breakfast every morning. This hostel is in a really good location for the area. It’s not too far from the beach and the pier and you’re very close to the public transportation. I met some really cool people at this place traveling from all over and we all hung out and had a good time.

|5.81km from city centerThese guys have a maximum stay limit of two weeks, and I know why: If they didn't, nobody would ever leave! What I loved about this place is how they manage to have such a good balance. I have a decent amount of hosteling experience and I feel that often a place is either clean and strict, or relaxed but dirty, but this place gets it just right: It's super clean and well-taken care of, but at the same time the atmosphere as well as the management is super relaxed and chill. The guests are definitely not the typical ”LA tourist” type, most of the people there seemed very individualistic, with the majority of them being solo travelers. They tend to keep themselves but are still up for a little chat. Again, it's the perfect balance. It's a friendly place but not a party hostel. In many hostel dormitories people come and go all night, turning on the lights and making a lot of noise, but this wasn't the case here. The lights went out pretty early, and whoever came in late would make an effort not to disturb the other people. Most of their rooms are regular dorms with bunk beds, but for just a few bucks more you can get a pod with a curtain and your own light, which I highly recommend. It's not always easy to get a good night's rest in hostels, but I slept really well here. Everything is very clean and there's a common area with plants and cozy warm vibes, it's all quite small but never feels crowded, even if they're completely booked. I would also like to add that I'm someone who struggles with all sorts of allergies, including dust and certain cleaning agents, and I had no issues here at all, which again speaks for the cleanliness of the place. Without a doubt one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at and probably the best deal you can get in LA. It's the sort of place you kinda don't want to tell anyone about because you want to keep it a secret, which is probably why nobody has written a review before ;)

|10.65km from city centerI needed a good location in West Hollywood and this was the place. Just a short walk off Hollywood Blvd but in a quiet calm area. The check in was great service and my room was awesome too. Love the history of this place, it's what makes travel the experience it should be. The common areas of the kitchen, etc was what a hostel should be. Reasonable rate for being in such a good place and feeling so safe. Could not recommend it more. The Roosevelt Hotel is just down the street for 4 times the amount I paid here. Bus service and walking to everywhere I needed to be, All I can say is Thank you for being there for me.

|1.03km from city centerThe host, Ron, was very friendly, very understanding guy. 100% made my experience comfortable. The location is next to Little Tokyo and the (new) Little Tokyo subway station. A lot of good eating areas around Little Tokyo. The sleeping/living area had very poor air conditioning. The bathroom and shower are quite rustic and gross, but that's not something I personally care about. I know other people are sensitive to this, so I will preface that I saw cockroaches in the bathroom. By no means is the toilet disgusting without being cleaned, but rather something you'd find at a bar downtown... Generally speaking though, the experience was good and I will be visiting again in the future. To emphasize, the host, Ron, really made me feel comfortable with being in LA.

|1.76km from city centerMy fiancé and I did a hotel buyout of the Arroyo for our wedding this month, and it was absolutely worth it! Our friends and family stayed in all the rooms, which were lovely, spacious, and comfortable. The Arroyo also catered our goodbye brunch the Sunday after the wedding, and it was FANTASTIC. They provided a decadent buffet of French toast, sausage, eggs, quiche, bacon, kept the coffee fresh, and included a few bottles of bubbly and orange juice to make mimosas. We were a bit slow getting all of our wedding guests out, but the owners were extremely relaxed about letting us take our time to spend our final moments with all our friends and family. Given the size of our wedding, we also did a hotel buyout of another boutique inn down the street, Bi**** Ho****. If you're deciding between these two, choose the Arroyo, hands down. Communication with the Arroyo staff was excellent, unlike the owners at B***** H****, who we contacted many times via emails, texts, and phone calls, only to receive responses sporadically. Due to this lack of communication, there was a severe misunderstanding between us that resulted in a really awful exchange on our last day. It was the only negative experience of our entire wedding weekend. If you want to spend a lot of money and be treated poorly by a pretentious couple who seem to think they are overseeing a museum rather than a hotel, stay at Bi***** Ho****. However, if you want to have a pleasant hospitality experience without the drama, complete with excellent food and beautiful views, the Arroyo is your place! Thank you, Susan and Janice, for your kindness and for being the perfect place to conclude our wedding weekend festivities!

|3.37km from city centerA very beautiful big house, it feels more like an airbnb homestay, not like a hotel, but it feels very special. The house is located in the wealthy area on the mountain. It is very luxurious. It is said that this house has a history of nearly 50 years, and the floor is covered. The patina is out. Usually when there are no guests, there will be a lot of sexy internet celebrities to pose for photos. The owner of the grandfather was very nice. He prepared breakfast for us in the morning. He knew that we were Chinese and would help us cook dumplings, watch TV on the cctv channel, recommend tourist routes, etc. He was very very enthusiastic and made us all embarrassed, toilet The two rooms are shared, but there is no one next door on the day we stayed, so it is equivalent to a private toilet. It's really great 👍

|3.51km from city centerThe entrance password changes every day(?), but this is not notified to all users.
At least, there are a certain number of guests, including myself, who cannot open the door and hit the intercom repeatedly at night, and who bang on the door repeatedly.
This is probably the case for people who have not returned to the inn for more than a day (stayed elsewhere during their stay).
I was afraid of getting into trouble as a result of letting someone in at my own discretion, so I asked the owner to contact me directly and gave him the owner's phone number, but the owner did not answer the phone and I ended up letting him in.
To be honest, the sound of people hitting the intercom repeatedly and banging on the door at night was scary for me. I may have overlooked something, including myself...
Also, the check-in method will be communicated to the owner by email after arrival. Therefore, although it is a self-check-in, if you want to check in late, we recommend that you check in advance to see if you can check in at that time.

|5.4km from city centerVery good hostel, exactly what I read from the others' comments. It's very clean, well located, situated in a quiet street and neighborhood. It has a private parking lot that can hold up to 5 cars. Guests there are very respectful and the rules are very clear to anyone. It's just 10-15 minutes walking from the next metro station (purple line). There are no famous restaurants (from big franchise) around there, but it wasn't a problem for me. The rooms have closet, minibar, and air conditioning. As for any other hostel, bring your towel. The blanket are ok. No complaint about bed and pillow. That's what I expected, CLEAN, well located and quiet. I will certainly recommend this hostel!

Hollywood
Los Angeles
|10.9km from city centerThe room looks nice and is spacious and clean and it is in a good location. These are the only positives. This is not a hotel, but just a studio apartment you rent for the night. It is in a residential building. This should have been made way more clear in advance. As you can read below, I do not recommend this place. There isn’t anyone there except the tenants in the building. This means you check in via a janky (on iphone) website where you’ll need to upload a photo of your id and face. This means you need a phone with a camera and internet connection, which is not a given for International travellers. There was little in the way of guidance, so it took us a while to figure out how to get in. I posted a help requesting message in the chatbox in the website, to which we got a response over an hout later when we had figured it out ourselves. You’ll need three different codes to enter the room (one each for the fence, door and actual room). These can be found in the website portal if you know where to look. While you’re trying to get in, you can enjoy the bouquet of urine and other bodily excretions found in the street while standing in the stained sidewalk. Once you figure it out, it works fine. The room was on the ground floor adjacent to a busy road. There was a lot of noise in the room throughout the night of traffic and also from inside the building (e.g. stomping and the sink garbage disposal from the floor above). It appears there is very little sound insulation. There is a kitchenette with a sink and microwave. However, if you plan on eating anything requiring a fork, you’d better bring you own because our room had all of one spoon and one knife.
