The hostel is modern and has all the required amenities of kitchen, laundry and friendly staff. My private room with ensuite/bathroom was quite a lot larger than I expected (compared to Japanese standards), with a queen bed and small counter area with seat. The location was fairly central with walking distance to the Museum, Park and castle areas. Plus close to restaurants. Highly recommend WeBase for anyone staying in Hiroshima.

Situated only a couple of minutes walk from Hondori shopping street and about 10 minutes walk, depending on if you’re a snail pace walker or someone who walks as fast as an angry mother who’s about to complain to the school board about something, from the Peace Memorial Park lies Santiago Guest House. A hostel that is a bit of a pain to find with it only being sign posted by those hanging signs attached to high rise buildings that are literally everywhere in Japan. With said buildings hosting separate businesses on each floor, it may stress you out finding it but upon entry the stress will go bye bye from its general aesthetically pleasing outlook. A modern and polished looked hostel who’s reception lies right next the common room and kitchen area, giving everyone in there a look at the fresh meat coming in. The common area and reception give a friendly vibe out from the on set with bean bags, couches, two TVs (one with a PlayStation 3) and shelves holding games and cuddly toys for you to spoon like they’re your partner whilst watching a rom com on Netflix. Generally the 6th floor where there is one dorm room and the kitchen and common area is quality. The kitchen is a little small in size but it does the job plus you’re in Japan where bento boxes are a way of life. Plus you can always just jaunt to the local supermarket- Yours- between 8:15 – 8:40pm where the bento boxes, salad and sushi goes half price, which the foreign helpers for free accommodation do pretty much every night. The location is great and the hostel is super affordable. The facilities are good enough, nothing to complain about. Using the washing machine costs ¥300 and you can rent towels and buy toothbrushes etc. for a small price. However, the receptionist made a rather ****** and questionable joke regarding my nationality and apparently did the same with other guests too. He surely doesn't have bad intentions but can be a bit difficult to deal with. Furthermore, it's not possible to enter the Hotel between 1AM and 8AM, so staying out late will surely turn into staying out very very late

For a place as expensive as Japan, JHoppers was a welcome treat to the budget. The staff were extremly friendly and helpful. The premises was clean. They had many showers which is not a common feature of hostels. All clean and good hot water. The kitchen facilities and lounge area was large. The rooms spacious, especially for Japan (we took a private room with tatami mats) and the sound did carry a little bit between the rooms but honestly not that bad. In the reception area they had many suggestions for things to do which we took up and very grateful for. We met some people who suggested to stay at JHoppers in Osaka as we were heading here shortly after. it was good advice!

First of all, the sense is very good. There are two outlets on the bedside and several photographs. The photographs were all nice, I liked the warmth of the lights, the arrangement of the basket and the lamp, all. It is also a happy point to have a window. It seems to be an ordinary house and the lounge is also small. However, there were books, reading spaces, and high-level coffee shops next to them, and I liked the atmosphere where the couple was doing it and the atmosphere where the child came to play. It is a hostel that I want to use again!

We arrived in Hiroshima by train and this hotel is super close to the train station so it was super easy to get to and from here with literally a 5 minute walk. It looks like the area has been redeveloped a bit so there's a bunch of good restaurants around the hotel. There is also a tram stop right around the corner so even though it's location is a bit far from all the sightseeing in the city you can get there easily by just hopping on one of the cool streetcars. The room itself is on the small side but the bed was super comfy. Shared bathrooms and toilets were clean most of the time and pretty spacious too. The downstairs common room and kitchen is great, there's so many kitchen appliances and utensils to use which was great. There's a bunch of manga books and boardgames too for some entertainment. The room could do with a few hooks to hang up stuff on the wall. Since the room is really small and there's no space for anything other than the bed and the tiny table with a stool it'd be a great solution to add some sort of storage for things like coats and bags etc. Unfortunately the cafe was closed when we were there so haven't been able to try this.

I spent a night here while backpacking around Japan with a JR Rail Pass. The place was easy to find with my phone guiding me. Maybe a little far from Hiroshima station to roll a suitcase with wheels over noisy road surfaces at night, but not bad for those travelling lightly. It's also not far from the local sports stadium. First floor of this hostel is a sports bar/restaurant. The hostel entrance is off to the left side of the building front. One of the staff from the bar will come to a window to get you checked in. Once checked in you will have in/out privileges with a passcode. The second floor is a living room type common area. There are couches, desks, manga to read, a guitar to play with and sightseeing info available here. Also stairs leading down to the sports bar and you can hear the patrons down there clearly. Once the bar closes for the night, this common room is also closed to hostel guests. The rest of the floors are sleeping and restroom areas. Unlike a typical capsule hotel this one looks handmade with wooden capsule and ladders. It was actually more comfortable than other capsules I stayed in on this trip. The futon mattress felt fluffier than normal. There was a privacy curtain but there was no way to seal and lock it as in many other capsule hotels. The price was extremely reasonable and I will probably stay here again on a future trip to Hiroshima.

The location is very convenient, just 5 minutes walk near the original explosion top. The room is big! It is also very close to JR Yokogawa Station. It takes 5 minutes to take the road tram to JR Yokogawa Station. It is very convenient to go to nearby places. The price is really cheap, 10 minutes walk from Yokogawa Station. Downstairs is 711 for the whole family. Attractions are not afraid of trouble to walk for 10 minutes to the city center. The disadvantage is that there is no curtain in this room, the hotel does not have an elevator, in fact, it is a hotel converted into an apartment in Japan, and the water flow in the bath is so small. Check-in is basically self-service, stayed for 3 days, except to see the young lady who cleaned in the morning, did not see anyone at the front desk. If you save money, you can consider living, health is justified, and the residential areas next to it are quiet.

Clean room and bathroom, medium size, good location, easy to find and move around. The problem is: all the rooms 501, 502, 503 are on a 5th floor and there’s is no elevator; so you’ll have to carry up your suitcase. Also, floors 2 to 4 are not part of the hotel, so be aware of the noise if you arrive late at night. And, there’s is no place to or way to keep your luggage after check out (check out is at 10am, so if your next train leaves later during the day of check out; you’ll have to take the luggage with you)
