There is also the emerging cultural and creative market - Baijiacun Garden nearby, and it is not far from Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. Price: As a petty bourgeoisie, price is certainly one of the options I consider. It costs just over NT$1,000 per night, which I personally think is pretty ok! Cleaning: Maybe I was lucky. The room was incomparably clean. I didn't find any hair or dust from other reviewers. The housekeeper's continuous cleaning was also of high quality. Service: The guy at the counter was very enthusiastic in giving us a lot of travel information and restaurant recommendations. The overall service quality was very high. Guest room: The space is not large, but it has everything. The balcony is really the focus of the whole room. New hostel, opened only in July so everything was super new and clean. Ladies bathroom had 7 toilets (not the squat type, the seat types!), 5 showers, 6 sinks and a small makeup area. Given the hostel is kinda huge, I was surprised I never had to wait which is so good! The bunk beds are really spacious, nice mattress, hook/rail to put clothes, a small shelf and has power outlets with USB and type c plugs catered for all of us that is hooked with digital gadgets! Has fast wifi throughout the hostel and has a nice lounge area (with a bar and music stage) plus two smaller rooms good for a more quieter or work area. Also has laundry room with washers and dryers. Hostel is also close to bus station (which can get you everywhere in Xiamen) and had many eateries downstairs. The famous Zhongshan Road is walkable too, takes around 20 mins. So basically this is a dream place for backpackers or tourists looking for a cheap, lively place to stay whilst in Xiamen. What also stands out are the staff. The cleaning aunties were super friendly. And all the young energetic staffers in reception and bar are willing to help at anything you asked no matter how bad our language barriers were! Like to especially thank Xiao Wang who checked me in, extended my stay and also fixed my fingerprint locker. Damn want to thank all the staff in this place, really made a difference during my stay :-) Note: they also give you a free bottle of water everyday which is a nice touch!

The hotel is in a small lane & can be difficult to find. Put Cube Fruit shop, Shengping Road as your destination & the e-hailing driver will find It easily. The hotel lane is just beside the fruit shop. The place is much better than I expected. It has a Zen-like feel, the deco Instagram-able & the whole place is very clean. It was also very quiet when we were there. The famous Zhongsun Road is just behind it. There are many eateries around the place. A convenience mart is a short walk away. 這家民宿就在沙坡尾有一個大大的鳳梨標誌旁邊的小巷裡，順着坡兒上去，看到標註上一段台階就到了。雖然處在熱鬧的沙坡尾，但很安靜，除了隔壁開關門的聲音。房間大小，乾淨還是比較滿意，尤其是衞生間和浴室是分開的，提供了浴液洗髮水洗手液護手霜拖鞋和一次性牙刷，還有毛巾浴巾（不是一次性）。挺大的電視就是個擺設，不但連基本的電視看不了，連投屏都不支持，找前台的小姑娘弄了半天也沒弄好。退房後，小夥子幫忙把行李拎下了台階。

I went for a room with the hot spring. The room was great - nice and cool in the summer heat and with a balcony. The hot spring bath took a few hours to fill and the temperature wasn't hot - if I stay again, I will see if the flow and heat can be increased - but otherwise, it was fine. Staff very friendly and helpful. The nearby beach is somewhat polluted and noisy - if you walk for 40 minutes or so left (as you hit the beach), you can find quiet beaches. If you turn right, there are walkways and crowded beaches and eventually you get to the night market area (cross over the island ring road), good for snacks and so on.
