April - May 2022: We visited with my mum and dad who live in Sri Lanka and since they are feeble on their feet it was very hard for them to climb the stairs to the dining room. But the staff and the owner were so incredibly helpful and individually brought all the food and cutlery, plates, drinks and tea down and set up the whole thing for each meal on the table and chairs outside our ground floor room. I love the fact that they use their own produce to cook and all the staff are so accomodating and welcoming, one phone call and they would come and help with whatever you need. Since we go to visit the Sri Maha Bodhi very early in the morning, they prepared and served us tea 5.30am in the morning before we had to leave. The hotel itself is wonderfully built and designed, feels so homely and amazingly, the owner used his own materials and recycles everything. The fact that the garden is so spacious you can spend alot of time outside. But the standout of everything is how down to earth the owner is, you can have a chat to him about anything! He is so friendly and accomodating. He even gave my daughter a fruit "anodha" from his garden to take home. My whole family was so touched by their hospitality we could not wait to come back whenever we visited Anuradhapura.
