Spa Hotels in Beatenberg

This review was written by my 8-year old daughter: About this hotel: It is a family hotel. If you are a kid, the first thing they are going to do is give you a teddy bear. It has a swimming pool and a gym. The swimming pool is really cool and it has a small waterfall built into a rock. The gym is quite big itself but we didn't go there. It has a nice view and a nice hotel restaurant. The food is really good and they have a really great breakfast. You order the main food and you get to choose the side dishes from a breakfast bar. For the main food, I picked omelet - it is quite yummy but it was not salty enough. For the side dishes, I picked cereal, kiwi and juice. They were all really yummy and sweet. You should go to Dorint. I give this hotel a five star review. -- From the parents' side a few additional notes: On the negative side - There is no AC in the apartment, so while this may not matter in the summer, it was quite warm during our visit (30-35C). It cools off nicely in the evening, but there are no screens on the window, so you'll likely end up with a few moths or other bugs in the room if you leave the windows open. On the positive side, they really cater well to families - from the teddy bear at check-in to a little board game on the back of the kids menu, to the small playground area (which seemed to be good for 4-6 year olds). One of the best places to stay and enjoy the outdoors with a captivating views of the Jungfrau and Swiss Alps with the Thun lake surroundings serene countryside. A must visit during your trip to the Alps and is tucked away off the beaten path at Beatenberg.

We visited for dinner and were seated on the terrace with spectacular views. Ordered the delicately cooked asparagus risotto with salmon and tarragon vinaigrette and pork escalope with creamy mushroom sauce. Service, ambiance and food was just amazing! The desserts we ordered were well presented and tasty. The orange cake made by Chef Bernard was delicate and extremely good. Ms Jackie who runs the Hotel with Chef Bernard, was very friendly and showed us around the property. The hotel rooms are very well priced, tastefully decorated and cozy. Wish we had known about the hotel before to book there.
