Our third walking weekend stay here in recent years and the hotel never disappoints - though this time we had the added benefit of beautiful spring sunshine, so we could appreciated the location and garden even more. A very comfortable and attractive room with everything we needed. Great food, with impressive staff and service throughout the hotel.

A great location. Inevitably a little short on parking. Delightful gardens with goldfish ponds and lots of outside seating and even a drinking fountain. Nice waterfall with 'wish coins' given to charity. The staff are very well trained and know just how to frame an answer or interject. The attention to detail is exceptional and a daily info. sheet is produced. The good breakfast was an extra and at £16.50 was at the top end of the value scale. Our evening meal was good and the well done steak certainly was. A good and novel idea was the small pudding which is accompanied by a coffee. A good wine list and range of ales, etc. Sadly they have no lift and upon asking for an accessible room due to mobility issues, I was told that we were on the second floor and it would cost an extra £30 to move to the first floor. I have often found that the staff take note upon arrival and offer a more accessible room without extra charges.

The damp weather was the only unfortunate element of this stay. The room, the food the staff, the other guests and their dogs were all absolutely lovely. We used the facilities in the car park to wash our muddy springer spaniel before we took her in to try her new travelling bed. We stay a couple of times a year; it is so good to know that it is going the exactly what we need.

Very comfortable and friendly hotel. We loved our room and the bathroom was spacious and designed really well. Great food and eating area and loved that dogs are welcome without bothering those without dogs. On site parking available too.
