Motel One Köln-Neumarkt

Very busy hotel but efficient and fast check in, we arrived a bit early and on the off chance we booked in and were surprised and pleased our room was ready around 1pm, this gave us a perfect opertunity to get our stuff to the room and go explore cologne centre which is just a short walk from the hotel which is very well placed. The rooms were well presented and very clean and were well insulated as we heard very little comings and goings from the corridor. The bar and lounge area was very comfortable and the bar staff all verry efficient and friendly. Finally the breakfast area was busy as expected but what a superb breakfast buffet which was constantly replenished and even with a full clientelle there was no real waiting for anything and the coffee machines of which there were plenty produced excellent coffee. I feel this hotel has spoiled us with it's high standards and I'd certainly look for a motel one first on my list when visiting other cities. We are already talking about a repeat visit next year for the Christmas markets. We stayed 5 nights. One thing to highlight was the parking below the hotel (which is public and does not belong to the hotel so not in there control) it was clean and secure and we didn't move the car for the 5 nights/6 days we were there but it was an expensive stay at 165 euros, so make sure you budget for it.

The hotel is in a brilliant location and it’s really comfortable. Room was spacious but the bathroom and a little small (nice and modern though). Parking was also really handy and easy to use and you get an €8 discount through the hotel. Only critique was there was noticeable dust built up at side of beds/on carpet and could do with a more thorough vacuum.

This centrally located Motel One provided us a good base for a couple of nights whilst visiting Cologne and the Rhine. Comfortable small rooms, and, as ever, a good bar to enjoy a nightcap at the end of the day.

I traveled to Cologne with three friends during Easter. We had a few issues with the remote control not working and using free breakfast vouchers so we called the hotel from our room but no one answered. We complained about this and the manager Matthias got back to us quickly apologising and correcting our issues. We officially did not meet the rules for the free breakfast but Matthias offered it anyway to make sure our stay was great. We met him later and he was very kind and a fun character. He definitely knows about good customer service! Thank you so much Mathias for helping us have a wonderful stay in Cologne!
