GGuest UserReally enjoyed my stay at fort bazaar. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Due to the rainy weather down south I changed my plans to go to Tangalle and stay a couple of extra days at Fort Bazaar and enjoyed the spa and walking around Galle. I was a solo traveler and felt safe and comfortable there. Definitely somewhere I would consider to stay again

GGuest UserAgnus Unawatuna is a little up into the hills, but the trip up is so worth it. The place is serene and the view is breathtaking; you get a top-down view of the ocean in all its glory, and you can even enjoy the view of the famous Galle Fort and Lighthouse from a distance. Service and amenities are amazing, and facilities are modern. Rooms are clean and well-equipped. It was a wonderful experience and the perfect place for a personal retreat! Would definitely come again if I have the chance, and have already recommended this place to some friends! Thank you!

AAnn ZhuMy favorite hotel in Sri Lanka, super sea view room, the view is super beautiful! It's very pleasant to walk on the beach in the morning and evening. The swimming pool is also great. There are many chipmunks on the lawn, and the children are so happy. Half board The breakfast and dinner buffets are also very good, and you can see that they are carefully prepared. The staff are very nice, and the elephants folded with towels are so cute 😍

FFred ConcklinWonderful place with a lush garden in Unawatuna area in the main tourist road. They let us for an early checkin so we didn’t have to wait in the lobby area. Room was spacious with modern furniture and included a minibar. Air conditioner worked perfectly. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was spacious. Hot water worked perfectly. Modern fixtures too. Green villa was close to all the main attractions. Highly recommended for a calm, quiet, comfortable stay in Unawatuna area.

TTuomaxixingThe location is very good, close to the city wall on the west side of the old town of Galle fort. The hotel building itself was originally meant to be a barracks, which was said to have been used as a post office, and is now a hotel but the owner cannot change the original structure. The hotel has two towers in the north and south, each with a terrace. The terrace of the North Tower belongs to the private room. We booked this one. The room is not big and suitable for two people, but this terrace is great, overlooking the West Coast and the nearby city walls, forts, and lively neighborhoods. Sitting on the terrace for a while early in the morning and night, the small wind blowing in the Indian Ocean, comfortable. The other rooms on the third floor of the hotel are larger and can overlook the West Coast through the corridor. The yard on the ground floor is full of green plants, the mottled courtyard wall tells his history, and the blue-and-white decoration is a bit Mediterranean. It feels like living in a museum. We took the children, the store gave us a free upgrade to a larger room type, but we still chose a small room with a terrace. The service is good, basically responsive. On the day I left, I had already checked out. I was hanging out in the old city. I was catching up with the heavy rain. I got a shower. I went back to the hotel owner and immediately gave us clean towels and asked to open a room to change clothes for us. The richness of the breakfast exceeded expectations. Fresh fruits, various fried eggs, staple foods, drinks and yogurt, we ordered more 😅 and then couldn't eat it, and it became a simple lunch at noon. Interesting travel experience, seems to be in the Mediterranean town.

We had a nice stay at the sea front. The rooms are very simple but clean. The hoteliers are lovely and we were able to enjoy excellent breakfasts. Saranga offers many excursions. Dilini is an excellent cook. They do their utmost to make you feel comfortable for a very affordable price. The beach is very close on foot but be careful the sea is very rough. There are nice restaurants Thambili and Aurora among others and shops nearby. You have to take a tuk tuk to go to the city center of Hikkaduwa if you want to swim without worries and enjoy the restaurants and shops.

MMichael8787The advantages of the hotel are a very good breakfast and dinner. Buffet. Very abundant. There are both seafood and local cuisine. Delicious. I would also like to note the traditional Marriott chain quality of bed. I slept great on it. The beach in this place is excellent. You can swim safely - the waves are not so strong. Everything is very picturesque if you go left and right. Now about the disadvantages. Unfortunately, there are more of them. The staff are very unpolite, you felt like you were not welcome here, they were doing you a favor. Fake smiles. On the day of check-out, a little after 12, for a few minutes the staff began knocking on the door and demanding to vacate the room. Is this worthy of such a hotel chain? When I tried to pay at the reception with a Union Pay card, the staff said that the terminal for Russian cards did not work. Although, in other places and hotels in Sri Lanka, everything worked without problems and it was possible to pay everywhere. I explain this behavior by lack of customer focus, which, again, is very strange for a hotel of such a chain as Marriott and for the service. I also want to note that this hotel did not have orthopedic pillows or any other pillows - when I tried to find out about this possibility, I was rudely told that there were no other pillows and that was all. In general, for the staff, service and their attitude - a big minus and a bad rating

I'll start with the good: excellent location, opposite a supermarket, and nearby there are many shops and benches, a gorgeous view from the window of the ocean, decent breakfasts, a clean pool, the staff's willingness to help at any time, delicious dishes to order from the menu, well-groomed territory. What I didn’t like: the rooms are already tired, they need updating, I lived in room 513. The pool is open until 19.00, which is not at all convenient, because after dinner you also want activity... but there is none)

Here is a classic family villa converted into an upscale bed and breakfast. The architecture and interior design are interesting and attractive. Bandura was a great host who shared insights into Sri Lankan politics and history with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay; the room was comfortable and clean. I recommend booking a room. The fort is easily reached on foot or with a short trip. A stay in Galle is an unforgettable part of a trip to Sri Lanka. Leaving Galle we took the train to Colombo which was an experience in itself. With Bandura's advice, we took a wonderful evening sightseeing trip through Columbo before leaving the plane to go home. Thank you so much!
