Le Nuvole - set in a square - is a reasonably quiet oasis that is slightly apart from the hubbub of the city but centrally located, and within a 10-minute walk of all the main sights (provided you don't get lost in the famous alleys). Some of the key take-aways: - The staff are generally friendly and accommodating. - The rooms are reasonably spacious. We opted for a suite that has a lofted seating area, which is probably neither needed nor justified. Unless you have more than two people in your party, a standard room should be more than sufficient. - The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. I am not sure I would deem anything particularly luxurious, but everything was of a good standard for the price point. - If you opt for breakfast, you have access to a decent selection of standard continental and hot buffet breakfast food. Again, nothing is exceptional, but it is certainly good enough. - There are a few sparsely decorated common areas for (instant) coffee and water on the same floor as the hotel rooms. This is a nice feature to have in theory, but I found these areas slightly depressing. If nothing else, they serve as a useful spot to regroup quickly before or after an excursion if you are there with other couples. Overall, Le Nuvole is a good option - clean and central, it serves as a good base for exploring Genoa.
