Beautiful hotel perfectly located a stone throw away from Killarney city centre. Friendly staff & fantastic service at both check in & breakfast. Will definitely stay here again & highly recommend.

Just back from a fab weekend in killarney. We did a package in the great southern called 'a jaunt in killarney' including a jaunting car ride, afternoon tea and 2 nights b and b. We can't rate this hotel high enough, everything was just lovely. We had our afternoon tea on arrival on Friday afternoon with Martina. She is a dote, serving up a gorgeous and very generous afternoon tea and just lovely with our 2 little girls. The Christmas decorations are gorgeous and create a lovely warm and special atmosphere. On Saturday we made use of the pool which the kids loved, again all the staff were so helpful. They have a family changing room which made using the pool very easy with the smallies. Saturday night we went to the Christmas parade in Killarney Town which is always great. The hotels central location is a big bonus. Sunday morning we did out jaunting car ride. Owen the driver was a lovely genuine young man and he let our 5 year old sit up front and 'drive' the horse. All in all I'd recommend this hotel to any family.

I recently had my wedding at the Great Southern Hotel Killarney. They went above and beyond for us. Majority of our guests, including ourselves, stayed at the hotel for 4 nights/l. Accommodation - spacious, warm, quiet, heavenly. Breakfast - phenomenal l. So many options including a menu Staff - Michaela, our wedding coordinator was amazing. So friendly, responsive and managed everything so easily even when there were last min changes. Simply brilliant. Gillian - events coordinator - our superstar. So personable, kept everything ticking along with the sit down meal, speeches, line up of entertainment etc. A very caring lady who simply is amazing at her job. We had no worries when Gillian was on the job. Sean - the fantastic doorman, so friendly. Put my nerves at ease every time I met him. Steven - our wedding host, another gentleman who hosted our wedding tastings as well as the wedding. So friendly, making sure myself and guests were always looked after Ryan - another lovely gentleman who was present the night of the wedding. His constant check ins with me were a comfort. The staff - all the staff are amazing, professional and so friendly. Top class staff that I simply cannot find fault with. This hotel feels like home to me & I can’t wait to revisit Thanks so much for making our wedding magical and impressing all of our wedding guests with your professionalism and friendly manners. We had a lovely stay at The Great Southern recently. Very relaxed and family friendly, this gorgeous hotel ticks all the boxes. The location is great, beside the train station and a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. Erin and Maria (and all the staff) couldn't do enough for us. We will most definitely be back, sooner rather than later.

The staff at check in were very efficient and friendly. The down fall of our stay was the food. On arrival we decided to avail of the bar food. We found the menu very limited and the quality of food very poor. The breakfast was also very poor. We had to return the scrambled eggs and bacon as they were not cooked properly.
