TTanGreat location! It’s about 2-3 minutes walk from JR Sannomiya exit. There’s a 7-11 beside the hotel and many restaurants nearby. I was given a free upgrade to a double room! The amenities and pyjamas are available at the lobby. There’s also a coin Laundromat and vending machine available at level 2.
Breakfast buffet was more of like Japanese style such as rice, natto, miso soup, veg and fish.

NNormanHotel Okura is very prestigious place with Japanese emperor frequently visited. One of the big conglomerates Pre world war 2. 1 year ago, Japanese emperor had visited Okura Kobe. However, it has been subpar to say the least and overpriced.
Cleanliness (Stains in a lot of spots)
As you can see from the photo. There were stains at bathtub. When I asked the front, they said it is inevitable due to how long it has been used. Even the washroom inside Okura had stains and dust, which is very concerning considering it’s price point
Location (Good for sea views but bad for tourism, walking and traveling)
The location for sea view is amazing and it’s near haborland and BeKobe. However, Meriken-Oriental park also offer the same sea view + direct port for ferry with same price point and better cleanliness.
The big problem with its location is it is far from everywhere else. Some tourist spots such as Kitano Ijinkan, sanomiya city center, waterfalls and herb garden. The JR is at Shin-Kobe which is around 15min taxi. Walking is pain the ass, as front entrance is only for cars, in order to walk, you need to go through one of the three sub-entrances, which requires you taking elevator or walking stairs
The location is not bad but there are hotels with better location such as ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe.
Directly under the shinkansen, 5 min walk (one street) from kitano ijikan and one straight line to waterfall and herb garden. The service was also fantastic.
Service (Amazing, but can’t really speak English)
The only thing going for the hotel with this price point was its service. Everyone was really kind and helpful, very professional. I have seen several times staffs were struggling with English speakers but aside it’s amazing.
Amenities. (It got the regular stuff but lacking minor stuff like weight scale, free newspaper etc which gets offered at same price point)

Bus stop right in front of hotel will bring you to kone sannomiya train station !

GGuest UserThe hotel is really old. When the wind is strong at night, it is very noisy outside the window. The retro feeling is a bit scary. The noise must be kept low when staying in the hotel. The sound insulation of the wooden structure house is very poor.
It was my first time to experience tatami. It was hard and uncomfortable. I didn't sleep well!
There are two hot springs in the hotel, both of which are independent. This is very good.
The hotel's meals are really hard to eat. Even a person who loves Japanese food really can't get used to it! The meals may be prepared very early, so they can't be changed at the last minute. The meals are all very cold. The only hot thing is tea. So I really don't recommend booking hotel meals. There are things to eat on the street outside, but you have to queue up and the store closes early.
The main attraction is experience. Ha~

Not many of the waiters can speak English, but in such a high-end hotel, they took us into the room when we checked in and did not carry our luggage for the guests and did not inform us that our room type is to have breakfast and dinner in the room. You will be asked to choose whether breakfast is at 7:30 or 8:00. We chose 8:00 but came at 7:30. There is still room for improvement in the level of thoughtfulness.
