KKonstantin AlekseevClean, perfect location, free parking. The beds are a bit hard and it would be better of you guys check whether the bottles of water in the rooms are full; mines were empty.

GGuest UserPros: The hotel design is very modern and clean. The staff are nice and friendly and do everything they can to help you. This hotel is big on sustainability. They don't leave plastic bottles in your room. Instead, you have glass bottles that you can fill up everywhere in the hotel. Every floor has a drinking fountain where you can fill up your bottle. The food was absolutely amazing. Breakfast is not a buffet. On weekdays, you have to choose between a Bulgarian or a French breakfast. At first, I was disappointed that they didn't have a simple option like an omelet; I went with the Bulgarian option. It was fantastic. Everything was fresh. On weekends, you only have an omelet option, which was also great. For dinner, I got Sea Bass and it was also great! I am fully satisfied with the food served at this hotel. The only criticism I can give is that the breakfast serving window is very small and late (8:30 am to 10:30 am if I remember correctly) and you have to wait for more than usual to get your food. Cons: The rooms have tile floors, which look cold but are not since I believe they use floor heating. The problem is that they don't offer slippers, which I don't like, since the same tiles continue into the toilet. It doesn't feel clean. They also don't offer toothbrushes which I would have really appreciated. I had to unplug the fridge since the compressor made a lot of noise when turning off and on, and I'm a light sleeper. Overall I would recommend this place if the location suits you, just bring your own slippers and enjoy the food!

MMango5We stayed here because our flight arrived late night and shuttle bus came to the sofia airport after calling the hotel. We prefer to get the shuttle bus without calling (ex. it's better if we can call the bus by app or text etc). However, the driver and all staff were really nice and friendly. Our train was very early morning so we asked the hotel to prepare our breakfast and it was really good! Thank you. Our room didn't have bathroom rug.

UUncle RioIt is a very clean and tidy interior hygiene and the customer satisfaction efforts of friendly and professionally knowledgeable staff are very conspicuous. The kitchen, toilets, bathrooms and other facilities are very good, especially the distance from the central bus terminal is quite close, so the accessibility is excellent. And the fact that there is a large supermarket nearby is also a factor that increases the value of this property.

The hotel is just a few steps from the “European Union” metro station just south of the center of Sofia. The hotel and neighborhood are both quiet, safe and conveniently located to what I must say is Sofia’s excellent Metro system (you can get almost anywhere in no time for very cheap)! I got to the airport from here in about 35 minutes (not rush hour). The bathrooms are newly refurbished and the rooms are quite large. The decoration is a bit dated (in an older Bulgarian style), but the furniture and king-sized bed were quite comfortable. They allow smoking in the building (so if this is a deal-breaker, go somewhere else). I, for one, am not bothered by it, so I found the hotel quaint and appropriate for my stay. The staff was polite and very helpful. Their English was quite good. For approximately $70, you cannot pass this hotel up.

KKarenGWe stayed in this hotel for 2 nights on our way to Romania Pros- the hotel is in a great location. Quiet leafy street, 500 meters to main bus and train terminal, approx 20 min walk to Vitosha boulevard - the room itself is quite nice, the TV has English channels, the balcony was an unexpected plus - the breakfast provided is adequate, though you need to go to an adjacent hotel - the staff were friendly and did their best to help Cons- the bed was not made up, they provided a single bed sheet for a queen sized bed. There was only one glass for 2 people. The quilt in the cupboard was filthy, it had no cover and we couldn’t use it - the mattress has no protector and is too soft. It might suit some but it is too soft for a hotel mattress - I tried to call reception to ask them for another sheet, a clean quilt and a glass. No one answered the phone. (I was told the next day that the phone is broken ). I went downstairs to find someone but no one was there or answered the bell on the desk. The next day I was told that the receptionist had to cover two hotels so is not always there . Please take note if you are arriving late to the hotel-there May be non one to check you in They are also very strict on check in times. If you want an earlier check in time than 2 pm you need to pay for it Overall the hotel is decent. If there had have been someone at reception all the issues would have been quickly resolved The main complaint is the cleaning and maintenance of rooms

BBeryl XuIt’s actually 🈶** in the hotel. So the parking fee is expensive. It’s about less than 100 RMB per night. Because the hotel is relatively cost-effective, you can actually ignore the outdated facilities. When checking in at the front desk, I was assigned to the second floor. I said I wanted a higher floor. There should be a manager next to me who can tell me that you have to ask for it. I said I have a request. I show them the requirements I wrote. Because of the word count requirement, I wrote it in Chinese on Ctrip. The other party immediately said that we couldn’t understand. I responded immediately. Don’t you have a translator? Then I reluctantly gave it to the sixth floor. 👌. When checking out, I especially want to praise the front desk with long brown hair. The service attitude is very good. I want to print out my car insurance policy. Everyone helped.

GGuest UserI'll start with the positive points first: - I'll start with the positive points first - The minibar and the drinks at the bar are cheap Now the negative points they are effecting mostly the rooms: - The carpet is dirty and the rooms stink. Most probably they never changed the carpet since the hotel was build - The air conditioning was installed later. The hose to dispose the water from the air conditioner goes through a hose into the bathroom and ends above the bathroom floor. this means that the bathroom is always flooded when the air conditioning is on. this is definitely not acceptable. - The room cannot be darkened because the fabric of the curtains is very very thin and translucent. As soon as the sun rises it is not possible to sleep. In my case it was around 05:30AM when the sun came up. This point bothered me the most because I didn't get enough sleep on my business trip. I have visited the hotel Hemus regularly since 2017 when I have not been able to get a room elsewhere. in 2019 they had done major renovations, but I still don't understand what exactly was improved. the points just mentioned above have not been resolved. only the tv was exchanged for a flat screen and the bracket for the old tube tv was removed. Maybe this was the reason of renovation. I hope that someone from the hotel will read this as a general overhaul is urgently needed. Especially with the carpet and the curtains. There's no point in choosing a hotel to relax after a long meeting day and can't even sleep because of the windows that can't be darkened or the smell of the carpet that has never been replaced.

GGuest UserThe Rila Hotel is an old hotel with old facilities, shoe box size elevators but in a very central part of the town near to everything. Our first night we stayed in a standard small room ( I think it cost $46 maybe $50 with taxes etc )that was not satisfactory. The next day for $10 - $12 per day upgrade we moved into a double size spacious/suite room with 2 balconies !! Very nice to sit out on the balcony with the afternoon setting sun and to wash out a few cloth items and let the sun dry them. Neither of the rooms had shower curtains in the bathrooms. When i enquired about this I was told this was done because of covid. Hhmmm not sure how a shower curtain has any bearing on covid ? We stayed a total of 7 nights and only once, after I called down to the front desk, did a chamer maid come up and take out the garbage and change the towels. To be fair my girlfriend has a habit of spreading all her things all over the 2 rooms so we hesitated to make a fuss. I can imagine a maid being shocked to walk in and not know what to do in all the mess. Breakfast cost extra and was only ok but enough to start the day. There was a large flat screen TV which we never turned on, there was no safe deposit box in the room but we were able to leave our valuables downstairs at the front desk. There are other hotels also nearby that are probably more renovated and modern and most likely cost a little more. On our next trip we most likely will see about other options. The staff was friendly and helpful. I guess it depends on what your expectations are but for us it worked.

GGuest UserI booked thinking it would have air conditioning, but it didn't. It was a summer night but luckily it was cool so no problem. There was a post raising issues with the card for the room key and lights, so I resolved it by inserting another card. Now you can escape the pain of locking from the inside in the dark. There was a mysterious hole in the toilet. You can see the piping. I thought it would be better to be invisible here,
