GGuest UserFront desk lied about early check-in. We called ahead because we were buying groceries and wanted to make sure the room was ready and was told our room was ready for early checkin. Get there and they said it wasn't ready and had to wait 40 mins for our room. I had cold food that needed to be put in the fridge. Then the fridge in room was broken, asked for a different one, but the second one was broke too. Exhaust fan in bathroom doesn't work ( we had the exact same room last year and told them the exhaust fan didn't work... a year later and they still didn't fix it!. The silver coating on the Faucets at sink are pealing off. Carpets in hallways have large rips in them, bath drain was broke, elevator certification not up to date- it is expired by more than 4 months and one elevator makes horrible creaking sounds when in use. Maids are talking loudly in the halls at 7:00 in the morning. We've stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past, but this will be our last stay at the Hampton on Jekyll Island. The rooms cost too much for things to be broken, and not work. This hotel is really going downhill. There was a dead snake on the patio for a whole day that the staff never removed. We still love Jekyll Island, although every year we go there are more people.... but this hotel and service in not recommended any more.
