This place will steal your money.... stay far away!! Son is an Army vet and prepaid for a week for a total of $360.00. He experienced some mental health issues and called an ambulance on himself while sitting in his car outside of the room. Because he called for help, the General Manager Mike P. advised the police that he was no longer a guest and not welcomed there while he was being treated in the ambulance. Just imagine already experincing a breakdown, and then being told because you personally reached out for help that you can't come back? How is delivering that type of news supposed to help anyone's state of mind that has already reached the breaking point? Once my son was out of the emergency room that night and returned, he was advised to gather his things and was NOT refunded the additional 3 days he already paid for. Spoke with Mike P. early this morning to clarify the decision made to remove my son from the property, and he agreed that my son was not destructive and was a respectful guest while he had been there. The GM's decison to remove him as a guest rested solely on the reason my son called the police on himself, and without even consulting my son first to determine what really happened. Mike COULD NOT direct me to a corporate policy that states he is within the legal right to make this personal decision. Only after I mentioned speaking to corporate did he offer to refund $30.00 at the most for the remainder of his 3 days. I stated that if he had prorated the rate accordingly to the $360.00 already paid, he would be owed a refund of $154.29 and that would be considered fair. He refused. He advised me to call corporate to dispute further, respect his decision, and HUNG UP on me. So now, my son is sleeping in a car for the remainder of the time because he can't afford another room. And that folks, is how military vets are treated at this place. No questions, just a personal decision made by GM who refuses to be understanding and try to evaluate each situation individually. Corporate will be contacted, and I will be updating this review based on my conversation with them, and when the proper refund is issued by the Lincoln, IL Motel 6.
