Hotel Everyday Life

We booked this place because of it proximity to the water and because we don’t like staying in a resort. When arriving, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The place is clean and new and decorated with top taste. Our room is overlooking the rock and the ocean. So very peaceful. Breakfast is top notch and is served personally to each guest according to their preferences. I am a vegetarian and my husband is diabetic and we were both delighted with the food and the presentation. I can’t praise this place enough. To whoever wants to come snorkel or enjoy swimming, this is the place. I

The hotel located near to Chaufan Rock enjoys a good coastal position with view of the sea. There is an overnight bus park in front of the hotel but this does not detract from the view. It is a pity buses cannot be boarded here as the nearest stop is 100m down the road. It has its own car park. The room was well equipped and very spacious with refrigerator and free snacks provided. The pillow and bed, a little hard for our personal preference but still okay. Bathroom similarly spacious with standalone bath as well as a shower. Shower worked well in the evenings, pressure a bit more problematic in the morning. Breakfast quite substantial, it is a set menu but vegetarian options can be selected. In terms of orientation around the area, we were 3 km from Kenting and 4km from Eluanbi. We were relying entirely on public transport during on stay or walking. The 9189 Kenting Express bus only takes you as far as the Howard Beach Resort so for general transportation along the coast (and travel to our hotel), the only reliable option is the 9188 Kenting Bus service from Kaohsiung terminating at Eluanbi which only runs once per hour (sometimes 90 minutes). The 101 half-hourly local bus service that purportedly reached other destinations did not seem to be running at all even though Google suggested it was still operating at weekends over winter. The end result was much time wasted at bus stops particularly as late in the day the bus can sometimes be 10 minutes early due to lack of traffic which resulted in missed connections on more than one occasion. The only available bus service restricted our activities to places along the coast road apart from the forest recreation area where we took a (rare) cab to the visitors centre and walked back. However there is enough to see and do along the coast for the 3 days we were there.
