Our four nights at the resort were very pleasant. The location is very convenient to both the ruins and to the town of Kamalapur - there aren't a lot of good options close to the ruins. The staff was accommodating and enthusiastic. Sitting by the pool was enjoyable, especially to take a break during the afternoon heat. The rooms were clean, airy and simply furnished. To calibrate expectations, our 'jacuzzi villa' was a decent sized room with a large bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub for 1 with jets. The mattress was comfortable, temperature control worked, and the internet was adequate for our needs. Unfortunately, the hot water was unreliable (you may need to run it for quite a while) and you need mosquito repellent outside despite the daily efforts of the resort to spray the critters into oblivion. The restaurant was excellent - a lot of options for breakfast including eggs-to-order and we recommend the buffet dinner. We also did the in-room service for a couple of dinners which worked well. We had massages at the spa which were pleasant: Be clear about what exactly you are expecting up front as the masseuses don't speak much English. (I requested an hour long full-body massage and at 40 minutes was informed that it was time for the sauna and shower, which I didn't expect or want. Eventually, I got the full hour massage but it disturbed the ambience and the masseuse was clearly flummoxed.) Overall, this is a very good base of operations for Hampi. One recommendation is to visit the Mango Tree restaurant in Kamalapur for a change. We went three times for lunch. The thali is popular but we also enjoyed the a la carte dishes and the lime ginger lassi.
