My husband and I booked our stay at the Robin Hood Village Resort based on the Reviews & Photos on TripAdvisor. We were very disappointed. Many of the reviews applauded the Fantastic Restaurant and Pub, the Staff, and the Food. We prepaid for our reservation. To our surprise, upon arrival, we learned there is no longer a restaurant or pub on the premises In fact, my husband even commented that there wasn't even an ice machine, a soda machine, or snack machine. We stayed in Historic Cabin #2. We quickly noted that the lock on the door seemed like it had been tampered with. The interior of the cabin could definitely use updating; particularly the flooring and the very small bathroom. Both the couch and the bed were very uncomfortable. Neither my husband nor I slept well. That being said, the room was clean, the towels were fresh, and the wall A/C was efficient. The stone fireplace and the woodwork on the ceiling above the bed were the few highlights. On a positive note, the grounds were well maintained, and did resemble Sherwood Forest. We enjoyed walking the trail, skipping stones in the creek, and playing Corn Hole. After our first night, of little sleep, I filled out the Questionnaire that was on the table. I decided to take it to the Office. I found a staff member doing laundry, and was going to leave it with her. She directed me to Heather, the manager. We had a 5 minute conversation. I told her that my husband and I were looking for a place by the water where we could return to once or twice a year to just relax and unwind. I specifically told her the bed was very uncomfortable and that we were very disappointed that there was no restaurant or pub on site. And that in fact, this was not what we would consider to be a Resort at all. Heather apologized and said that those facilities had closed during Covid. And then she asked if we were checking out. I told Heather that, "No, we had booked the Cottage for 2 more nights." She seemed surprised, and apologized again. She said that she was going to go to the office and check her books to see if she could move us to one of the other cabins. I told her that we would appreciate that; and would like to check out what else was available. She said that she would look at the books, and then come knock on our door. We never saw or heard from her again for the rest of our 3-Day stay. We will not return, nor recommend Robin Hood Village Resort to our family or friends.
