Fantastic food, wine and atmosphere. You can't really ask for more than that can you! Tried this week's special spaghetti arrabiata with a quinoa, feta, pea and pomegranate salad. Best spaghetti I've tasted! Always a great experience eating here.

We received such a friendly welcome and would highly recommend this old English pub. Mere is such a beautiful little town and the big free car park opposite the Butt of Sherry makes it such any easy place to stop - 3minutes from the A303. The pub has a welcoming and traditional feel with great food, served quickly.

We chose this pub for lunch because of the location but we were so pleased with the warm welcome we received. They do a great selection of beers and ales and the food we had was excellent. We will definitely be returning soon to the Butt of Sherry.

Fantastic Sunday lunch! Enormous portions, fabulous crispy roast potatoes, extra gravy, nothing was too much trouble. Friendly welcome, good wine, very reasonable prices. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be coming back!

Great choice of food reasonably priced in atmospheric pub. I’m gluten and dairy free and loved the chilli. My husband had chicken and ham pie with good selection of vegetables. Plus helpful staff - what’s not to like. Would recommend to anyone.

We met up with family who live in Mere. We booked a table for food on Saturday evening, and there was a nice choice. The food was all piping hot when it came, and delicious. The bill was very reasonable to, would definitely recommend, and will return when we come to Mere.
