To be honest, given the affordable price we had low expectations- but this was nice than our accommodations in much more expensive establishments! Great service, a fun atmosphere, clean and extensive facilities, large rooms. It does get a bit noisy at night but that's to be expected.

This hostel offers a great bunch of private rooms which can be considered as hotel rooms really. The hostel is a very near to the start of the two most popular hiking trails in El Chalten -Cerro Torre and Laguna de Los Tres. Front desk is always friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are included in private room price and have big portion and quite tasty. Dinner portion is huge too, and the restaurants get busy from 7pm.

Very courteous front desk people. Most of them spoke English. The room was mostly comfortable. The bathroom was a little cramped, but this seems to be the norm in this area. They allowed us to leave our bags in the front desk area for a few hours. The breakfast was pretty amazing.

Beautiful clean and modern rooms, finished to perfection! The receptionists were very helpful with everything I.e early check in, booking tours, airport taxi’s and general advice Also in a fantastic location. 15 minute walk to a Laguna and 10 minute walk into the main town. Highly recommend this place to anyone - couples, families or groups! Exactly what we needed for a few days here ☺️

The location is good, not far from the supermarket. The staff are very warm and humorous, the facilities are relatively outdated, the hot water in the bath is not hot enough, and the others are fine. The kitchen utensils are basically complete.

This is an average place. It’s not bad but not good either. The Wi-Fi was worthless, took us an hour to book a stay at our next destination because it kept dropping us or stalling. Others at the hotel indicated the same experience. Security is very lacking here. The management requires that you leave the key if you are leaving the building. However, the process of retrieving or leaving your key is simply to do it yourself with no staff verifying that the correct key is taken. Cleanliness at breakfast is also lacking. The staff wear latex gloves. But these are only to protect their hands, not your food. I say this because the staff wear the gloves while they prepare food, handle luggage, or pet the neighborhood cat or dog that comes to visit - all with the same gloves. Besides these complaints, the rooms are comfortable and the staff are helpful and nice. I preferred other places in town but in a pinch, this place is workable.

The Design Suite Hotel is exactly what it is called. It is a very design and very beautiful hotel. It should be the best view hotel in Calafate to see the Lake of Argentina. Each room has a whole window overlooking the lake. While slowly admiring the beautiful lake view, snow peaks, blue sky and white clouds. The restaurant is very beautiful, the breakfast is rich, the taste is good, the service is very warm, and the English is very good. It is very intimate that you can order a lunch set on the glacier hike, and there are oversized sandwiches, apples, water, chocolate pie, and energy bars, which are very worthwhile. Walk along the lake to the town center in about half an hour, and also pass through the wetland park. There are buses to and from the airport to pick up and drop off, following the bus is equivalent to a day trip to the town! All in all, very good value for money.

Very disappointed with my stay at the Hotel, I detail my experience below so that you think well before choosing it: Upon arrival and check-in, they informed me that the price they had quoted me by phone and email was not the final price, since it was ”without VAT”, so I had to pay much more than what I was informed. Very inconvenient and unprofessional. The first night I decided with my partner to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. I had to get up from the table to ask for a menu because the attention was terrible.  Literally HALF AN HOUR AFTER ORDERING our food, the waitress came over to tell us that ONE OF THE DISHES WAS NOT AVAILABLE! One hour wait for food and food arrived at the table at 11:20 p.m.  A real disaster. The food service to the room has an extra cost of $1,000 if you ask that the food be brought to your room. Breakfast is nothing special and pretty disappointing. The WIFI signal is bad and the SPA and sauna service that they boast so much about on the website are not a big thing. MY SPA TREATMENT WAS NOT RELAXING AT ALL. I WAS FREEZING THE WHOLE TIME AND ROOM WAS SO BRIGHT I JUST WANTED TO LEAVE! No kettle if you need to heat water, the furniture is old and the TV is also very old, no Netflix or YouTube, like any 5 star hotel of nowadays. The pool is very small, zero privacy or comfort if there are other people enjoying it.  It has a few lounge chairs piled up in a corner so you don't even want to stay there. In conclusion, I was expecting a quality service according to the high price they charge and I was very disappointed. Far from recommending this hotel as there are so many other much better options at a lower price. It really sucks that they take advantage of people like that and that they boast of being a luxury 5-star hotel when they clearly are not.

Excellent location, very close to the main avenue where all the restaurants, shops, coffees, bars are located. Staff was very very friendly and helpful. In my opinion the breakfast could offer more fruits, honey and eggs. And the checkout time could be later…. 10:00AM is too early for a checkout.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Nice room with balcony. The staff was extremely accommodating. I am a psychotherapist and needed a private space at one point during my stay to have a session with a client who was in crisis. They were able to provide me that space and were quite sympathetic. It was easily walkable to town each day, and we had no problem arranging a tour to take us to the glacier. For an extra charge, the hotel was able to provide us a very nice lunch for the time that we were at the glacier. We dined in the restaurant for dinner two of the nights, and both experiences were wonderful. The food was top-notch for dinner, and the cocktails were also superb! The breakfast each morning, which I believe was included, was absolutely delicious! There were a lot of healthy options provided. I would also like to highly recommend the medical facility that was quite close to the hotel, TMSALUD. I had an issue with my knee and got in quickly to have a consult with Dr. Gimenez, who was INCREDIBLE! Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel not only for the accommodations, but for location to all the attractions nearby.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It’s a nice hotel with friendly staff. It’s the small things that bother me like on the 2nd floor at the elevator only the up button can be pressed. At breakfast, at 09:00 when we came for breakfast the eggs were cold. The next day we had a pickup at 07:10 and they said breakfast starts at 06;00. I guess nobody told the kitchen staff. They only put out the food at 06:25 and the eggs were cold. The 3rd day we went down at 06:20 and everyone still had to wait for them. And guess what, the eggs were cold. The rooms are nice and you have a nice view from the room to lake Argentina.

Chalten Suites in the centre of El Chalten is more of an upmarket hotel more for people seeking comfort than just a place to throw a sleeping bag onto the floor. The rooms are quaint and spacious enough and the bathroom is fine. Water pressure in the shower is satisfactory. The bed is comfortable and the heating works as it should in such a cold place. The included breakfasts were excellent, especially to charge your body up for a long hike. The staff are extremely helpful and do go out of their way to try to ensure your stay goes well. They will organise shuttles to walks and offer advice for those unfamiliar with the local attractions. When the lovely receptionist mentions a shorter walk to Laguna Capri, ignore that and go with the longer walk option (see review on Chalten walks). There are only a few negatives for the hotel. Top of the list is the poor Wi-Fi, which is annoyingly unreliable. However, that could be a location problem for the whole town. That said, in all my weeks of travel throughout South America, this is the only place with bad Wi-Fi. Next is the cheap toilet paper, a silly thing really as it is so unnecessary. Especially when you have to use twice as much for the same job. Lastly, the restaurant in the hotel is limited. It has a nice ambience and good views but the menu is limited and lacking in national dishes. I paid $US200 per night and stayed 3 nights. For that fee, one would expect better internet. Overall, there aren’t many flash hotels in El Chalten and Chalten Suites does provide a necessary service for tourists rather than adventurers. Destino sur The location of this hotel is perfect. It’s really close to the start of the trailhead for the Laguna Del los Tres hike. We found that there weren’t very many nice hotel options in El Chalten so this was a good choice. The breakfast was great with lots of options to fuel yourself ahead of a long day of hiking. One disappointing part of the hotel was the Spa area. The pool was not very clean and the Fitness suite was seemed like it was just a bit of a tick box to get their stars. It was an incredibly small room with only cardio equipment; when you’re in one of the best locations for hiking in the world the last thing you’re gonna want to do in a hotel gym is cardio- would suggest replacing the Treadmill with some weights And stretching equipment instead.

Hotel with good facilities, comfortable beds, large room and spacious bathroom as well as good heating and hot water. On the downside, there is only Wi-Fi in the breakfast and reception area and, taking into account that there is hardly any coverage in the whole town, it is very inconvenient not to be able to connect in the room and having to do it alone from there. I would also like to point out that, except for the girl who is at reception in the afternoon, who is lovely, the rest were quite rude. For the rest, everything was perfect.

We are incredibly happy with our 5nights stay at Poincenot! I had forgotten that we booked a twin bedroom so at check in, I was asking if they have a room with double beds instead, without really hoping for too much. The lady at reception actually went above and beyond, walked up and down & checked a few rooms for us, although in the end we needed to take the twin room which was fine. Breakfast was great everyday, not too much option but can get your morning going for sure. What I loved most was the housekeeping! They turned our bed down daily, kept our room nice and clean which was a joy to come back to after a long day hike. We put the twin beds together and the next day when we returned, they made it a double bed by adding some extra mattress, what a star! I would highly recommend this place - though it’s a bit of a walk from the bus station but you will be surrounded by restaurants and shops anyway.

This hotel was very clean and nicely decorated to make it welcoming and cozy. The front desk personal were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast consisted of sweet breads, jams, cereals, yoghurt, multi grain bread and hard boiled eggs. It was quite enjoyable and filling. The mattresses were very comfortable also. We made a great choice in selecting this hotel.
