Osanai is a popular restaurant with many locals and tourists alike, with a wide selection of 500 yen menu items such as set meals and rice bowls. If you come here, be sure to try the dishes made with live scallops! The menu is also full of scallops. After a lot of deliberation about whether to have fried scallops or not, I ordered the scallop grilled miso set meal. I changed my miso soup to the local dish Kenojiru for an additional 250 yen. I didn't really want to eat the grilled miso, but rather thought it was a local dish that I should try once, but it was more delicious than I expected! The miso flavor is not strong, so you can really enjoy the ingredients. It was also full of scallops, and I was more than satisfied with just that. I'm glad I ordered it. Kenojiru is a miso soup with chopped vegetables and konnyaku. It's filling and really feels like a miso soup you can eat! Aomori | Asamushi Onsen Stay Report: Yadoya Tsubaki

I had the opportunity to visit Aomori and thought it would be nice to stay at an onsen, so I found Asamushi Onsen. Since Aomori is a heavy snowfall area, it's great to have an onsen that can be reached by train alone. This time, I stayed at 'Yadoya Tsubaki'. It's a very affordable inn where you can enjoy a private bath with flowing hot spring water. They aim to be an inn that, while not luxurious, makes you think 'I might come back again'. It was clean and relaxing. When visiting Aomori, staying in the city center is nice, but extending your trip a bit to stay here is definitely an option. A short walk from the inn, there's a spot called 'Onsen Tamago-yu' where you can make onsen eggs! You can buy eggs at a nearby convenience store, so be sure to try it out.
