The Unique Underground Museum
The Güray Müze underground museum in Turkey offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating history and culture of Cappadocia. This museum is located in a former underground home that was carved out of soft volcanic rock. The museum features a shop and a variety of exhibits, including traditional pottery and historic artefacts. Visitors can also see demonstrations of traditional crafts such as pottery-making. The museum is an excellent place to learn about the region's rich history and the ways in which people have adapted to living in this unique landscape over the centuries.

Avanos is a small town in central Turkey. It is definitely not a touristy place but is very close to the open sights of Cappadocia - the most beautiful place in the region. Anyway it is a nice option for a quick stopover but you will need a car.

Avanos Pottery World and Fairy Cave Shop.
Remember the shop front in the first picture! It's a very small shop. We went in with the mentality of just browsing around, but we were shocked! This is a cave pottery shop with four layers of caves dug down. It's full of all kinds of pottery. Because we had already visited 5-6 pottery shops in the ancient city of Avanos, I can say that their prices are reasonable. I finally bought a large and a small decanter (pictures 9 and 10) for only 2,000 lira. You know, a similar decanter in the Einstein Workshop where the sisters checked in before costs more than 500 dollars. Of course, this is just a work of art without a big name. But it seems that their family has been making pottery for several generations. At least I think the style design is no worse than other masters. And when we arrived in Avanos, it was hot in the afternoon. Their cave was very cool. The shopkeeper watched from a distance and didn't come up to sell. The selection experience was very good! A good shop is really... Avanos Town

Spring Travel in Turkey | The Pottery Town of Avanos Citywalk
When traveling in Cappadocia, Turkey, compared to the hot air balloon and Instagram-famous town—'Göreme', I would prefer its tranquil neighbor, the pottery town—'Avanos'.
/
⭕️ 'About Avanos':
Avanos is located to the north of the town of Göreme, a 20-plus minute drive away, and is a famous pottery town in the central part of Cappadocia in Turkey.
/
⭕️ 'Citywalk Route': Bus Station—Red River—McDonald's—Ceramic Street—Viewpoint
✔️ Red River:
At the center of the town flows Turkey's longest inland river—the Red River, which boasts beautiful scenery on both banks and is home to many ducks, creating a picturesque view! Many locals also come here to feed the ducks!
✔️ McDonald's:
There is a McDonald's with French architectural style by the Red River, which looks more like a small museum or art gallery, uniquely beautiful.
✔️ Ceramic Street:
In the town center, there are many ceramic studios, pottery workshops, and porcelain shops, as well as cafes and guesthouses.
I especially recommend buying fridge magnets and souvenirs here, as the products are exquisite and affordably priced!
✔️ Viewpoint:
Walking up to the higher parts of the town, there is a small square on the hillside with an excellent viewing platform that offers a panoramic view of the entire town.
/
⭕️ 'Transport Tips':
You can take a minibus (with the word AVANOS in big letters) from Göreme bus station to reach Avanos town center, with one departure every hour, costing 40 Turkish Lira per person.
To return, you can wait for the bus at a stop near Ceramic Street.
/
⭕️ 'Travel Tips':
✔️ The town is small, making it very suitable for a Citywalk, which is really comfortable.
✔️ The cost of living in the town is much cheaper compared to Göreme, so it's recommended to shop here!
✔️ Pay attention to the bus schedule, with the last bus around six o'clock, so be mindful of your playtime.

This is a guest house which is in excellent condition and has all the needed things you might want.
Naz (the host) welcomed us warmly and was extremely helpful for the whole of our stay.
The breakfast is the best we have ever had, home made jams and pastries, enough food to fill you up all day.
On the terrace you can watch the famous balloons - a stunning, uninterrupted view that we found mesmerizing.
The room itself was huge, with a comfortable bed and kitchen facilities.
The location is just outside the town (about 10 minute walk). It has plenty of eating and shopping options.
Overall, we are so glad we chose to stay here and hope to be back one day!

Turkish Journey
Avanos town is located in the triangle area of the main scenic area of Cappadocia, and Turkey's longest inland river, the Red River, flows through the town center. The river water is clear, and groups of swans swim in the water. The water of the Red River is rich in iron, and the soil taken from the Red River is very suitable for making pottery, so Avanos town is famous for ceramics and is known as the hometown of ceramics. Pottery is made from the red clay in the Red River and the white clay on the mountain. We visited a local ceramic workshop to see the whole process of traditional handmade crafts such as material selection, molding, modeling, painting, glazing, and firing. Walking into the store, there are various ceramic artworks, dazzling and eye-catching, including household pottery and craft pottery. The shape of the Turkish wine pot is the most unique, and the patterns on the pottery are full of national characteristics.

When I arrived in Cappadocia, it was almost noon. The first thing I arranged was lunch. When I was full, I had the strength to play well! Lunch is a pottery with Turkish specialities, and the dining venue is a cave restaurant with Cappadocia characteristics.
Come to Cappadocia, you must be inseparable from the word "cave", cave restaurants and cave hotels. If you are free, you can choose a few more to taste, maybe there will be different feelings.
This time we chose the restaurant Evranos Restaurant, check it online, the word of mouth is not bad. Evranos is the meaning of Avanos, and Avanos is the famous pottery town in Turkey. Let me just be the Jingdezhen in Turkey, haha!
Walk into the cave restaurant, the gorgeous retro totem, greet us. We sit on the long table and eat in the cave for a special experience.
Next, I will introduce the traditional Turkish pottery meat. It is so good for everyone who is a soup, and gave me a superb pose.
Clay pot meat is made by mixing beef and mutton with onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and spices, and sealing them into jars and baking them into the oven. When you eat, use a long-handled knife to knock open along the can, and even the soup with meat is poured into the dish. At first glance, like the potato sirloin we burned, but as the aroma hits and is sent to the entrance, you will know that it is a unique taste.
Rachel Yu.
There are many beasts carved on the inner wall of the lobby. It looks like an ancient totem, so it looks so painful under the red and yellow lights.
There was a musician playing in the room. After a while, I suddenly left. We thought it was the end of the performance. Who knows that a young man started to propose, and the scene cheered.
For me, this kind of bad person, the difference is not big, but almost everyone in the team unanimously claimed that this meal is the best time in 15 days, but I think The restaurant in Conya called "Restaurant" is the best. The meal is still the oldest, bean soup, salad, pre-dinner bag, smashing your dessert, and rubbing it with a fork feels that you are killing sugar. This is not as good as eating sugar directly. It is unacceptable. The
main dish is indeed worthy of praise. Like the crocked beef that I have eaten in Tunisia, the crock is sealed and opened in front of the guests, bringing the beef, eggplant, and tomatoes in the pot. Onions, potatoes, green peppers... all fell on the plate, and they were given to the guests. The beef is very bad, the soup bibimbap is very delicious, but unfortunately it is not salty. The problem of many meals in Turkey is that there is no smell. As a Chinese who is used to eating salty, rice without salt is equal to no food, no decline. Children, so it is very necessary to bring mustard.
When I left, I found out that this is actually a special merchant of Trip.
Knight Rider.
Speaking of Kappa, everyone is thinking about hot air balloons, thinking of "exotic landforms", all of them are strange terrain in the wilderness.
I didn't think there was such a place with water, trees and ducks in the dusty place!
There is a ceramic factory in this place, you can make ceramics yourself. However, as a Chinese, you really dont have a cold on porcelain pottery. You are interested in fluorescence, or you are blowing along the river bank.
