Tianfu Square, Chengdu

Tianfu Square is located at No. 86, Section 1, Renmin South Road, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It was completed in December 2007 and is the old geographical center of Chengdu. Tianfu Square covers an area of 88,000 square meters. It is rectangular in shape, with a length-to-width ratio of about 1.5:1. The ground is paved with light-colored granite strips. To the north of Tianfu Square is a statue of Mao Zedong, which is 30 meters high. The square is divided into two parts: the east square and the west square, separated by the curve in the middle of the Tai Chi cloud pattern on the square. The east square is a sunken square, and the west square is mainly a fountain landscape. The landscape includes the Sun God Bird, Fish Eye Dragon Fountain, Yellow Dragon Cloud Waterfall, Ebony Carved Stele, etc. The Tai Chi cloud pattern in the square is a reflection of the Taoist Yin-Yang Tai Chi. The huge Sun God Bird is located in the center of the Tai Chi pattern.
