Xiazhuang Village, Kunming

Xiazhuang Village in Chenggong District, Kunming, is a village with a long history. During the Han Dynasty, Xiazhuang Village belonged to the ancient Dian Kingdom. During the Three Kingdoms period, it was the tribal territory of Meng Huo. In the Ming Dynasty, it was one of the manors of the Mu family, the King of Qianning, who guarded Yunnan, so it was called Xiazhuang, also known as Xinglongying. Xiazhuang Village has historically been a transportation hub and a must-pass place on the Guanpo Ancient Post Road. Xiazhuang Village has always been mainly agricultural, and the people here live a traditional farming life. In recent years, with the rise of Kunming University Town, the farmland in Xiazhuang Village has been expropriated and replaced by vibrant university campuses.
