Chiang Mai Hiking Guide: Two Nature Trails in Doi Inthanon

Doi Inthanon National Park is known as the "Roof of Thailand." Many outdoor enthusiasts come here for hiking in winter. There are two nature trails in the park, Pha Dok Siew and Kew Mae Pan, managed by the Karen and Hmong people respectively. - 1️⃣ Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail 🌟 Highlights: Forest trail | 360° viewing platform | Sea of clouds and sunset 📆 Opening hours: Closed from June to October (rainy season) This short trail winds through the primeval forest for about 3 km, passing by giant rhododendrons, waterfalls, and streams. It takes 2–4 hours to hike, allowing hikers to experience the natural beauty of the forest. It is a must-visit hiking trail for nature lovers. The entire route is divided into 3 stages, with a total of 21 stations👇 🔸 Stage 1 (Stations 1–6): A dense cloud forest trail covered with moss and ferns. 🔸 Stage 2 (Stations 7–14): Station 9 is a panoramic viewpoint for taking scenic mountain photos. 🔸 Stage 3 (Stations 15–21): At the end of the trail, you can hear the sound of the wind and birds singing like a band. - 2️⃣ Pha Dok Siew Nature Trail (เส้นทางศึกษาธรรมชาติผาดอกเสี้ยว) 🌟 Highlights: Waterfalls | Rice terraces | Karen village | Local coffee This trail is named after the rocky cliffs along the way. There is a gate and an information board with a map of the trail at the entrance. The entire trail is not too difficult. First, you will pass through the forest and go down the stairs to the waterfall, passing by the marigold greenhouse. Bridges, stairs, and railings made of bamboo and wood are built around the more dangerous waterfalls to improve safety. 🔸 Pha Dok Siew Waterfall Walk along the waterfall and cross the river via bamboo ladders and bridges.
