Longmenhao Old Street

Longmenhao Old Street is located in the middle of Nanbin Road in the core area of Chongqing's main urban area. It has a long history, dating back thousands of years, and is home to many historical sites. The street is made up of more than 200 buildings from different periods and is the best-preserved and largest historical and cultural old street in Chongqing's main urban area. Hao originally meant "vast water." However, in Chongqing, hao refers to the water area separated by shoals on the riverbank. Longmenhao is located in the Yangtze River on the south bank. A shoal several kilometers long extends from Wafangwan to Yemao Creek, and for some reason, it is cut off in the middle, forming a hao. When the moon rises over Tushan Mountain and reflects in the hao, it creates the beautiful scenery of "Longmenhao Moon," which is one of the eight great scenic spots of ancient Bayu. Longmenhao Old Street is the most characteristic old street and alley in the mountain city. With a height difference of nearly 50 meters, you can experience the "climbing and climbing" that belongs to Chongqing.
