Although it is not as famous as Boracay or Bohol, it is perfect for a winter reverse trip. It is a place that you will fall in love with at first sight. Even though most of my trip was in Cebu, I still arranged a 3-day, 2-night trip to Coron Island. · Coron Island is the third largest island in the Calamian Islands in northern Palawan, Philippines. It is famous for its World War II shipwrecks. Together with Palawan and thousands of surrounding islands, it remains a pristine natural ecosystem, earning it the nickname "Utopia on the Sea" in the Philippines. · ✈️Transportation The main way to get to Coron Island is to fly to Busuanga Airport. The flight from Cebu takes about 1.5 hours. After landing, you can take an airport van directly to the hotel. On the second day, I booked the Coron Island A Line Island Hopping Tour, which is the most classic route on Coron Island. Soaking in the nearly 40-degree water brought by the nearby underground volcano, while enjoying the cool evening breeze, is a unique experience. ✅Mount Tapyas: The highest point on Coron Island, with an altitude of about 620 meters. There are 721 steps leading to the top of the mountain. At the top stands a steel cross, a perfect combination of nature and human faith. It is a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset on Coron Island. ✅Twin Lagoon: Separated by a mountain into two lagoons, where the sea and the lagoon meet. The biggest feature is that the water is cold in one section and hot in another. Snorkeling here is a wonderful experience. If you are not physically fit, don't swim too far. I almost got exhausted at the first snorkeling spot. ✅Kayangan Lake: Also known as Mirror Lake. It is not a traditional lake, but a miracle of the sea. The upper layer of the lake is freshwater, while the lower layer is seawater. This unique geological structure makes the lake crystal clear, like a giant mirror reflecting the surrounding karst peaks. The classic view of Mirror Lake is from the viewing platform before climbing the cave halfway up the mountain. ✅Coral Garden: The waters around Coron Island are a paradise for corals. The coral reefs here are colorful and varied, like works of art carefully arranged by nature. Snorkeling here allows you to see marine life such as clownfish and sea anemones up close, and experience the wonder and vitality of the underwater world.
