Dali West Coast | A Christmas Adventure in the Land of Wind, Flowers, Moon and Snow

Hey, guys! I just got back from Dali. I had an especially wonderful time on the West Coast, and I can't wait to share my travel tips with you all. The West Coast along Erhai Lake is truly the highlight of Dali. As you walk along Erhai Lake, the sunrise at Longkan Pier is a must-see. In the early morning, the sunlight shines on the lake, making it glisten. There are ducks playing in the water, and every shot you take can be a masterpiece. Although there are quite a lot of people at the S-bend in Panxi Village, if you take your time to find the right angles, you can still take amazing pictures. Rent a colorful bicycle and ride along the lake, feeling the wind on your face. It's so relaxing. When you arrive at Xizhou Ancient Town, be sure to try the freshly baked Xizhou baba. Both the sweet and salty ones are delicious. Strolling through the ancient streets, the Bai ethnic group's characteristic architectures are simple yet solemn. The exquisite wood carvings and the deep courtyards in Yanjia Courtyard seem to tell stories of the past. This time during my trip, it happened to be the Christmas season. The Dali Muxi Secret Garden Sea View Homestay where I stayed was filled with a strong Christmas atmosphere! When you enter the yard, there's a tall Christmas tree covered with colorful lights and small gifts. It looks so romantic when the lights are on at night. The rooms were decorated with Christmas-themed ornaments, and there were carefully prepared Christmas snacks. The attention to detail was really impressive. This homestay has an excellent location, and the sea view from the rooms is amazing. In the morning, when you open the curtains, you can see the sunrise over Erhai Lake, and the sunlight gently shines on the bed. In the public area, there are comfortable sofas and books. You can sit here in the afternoon, drink tea and read books, enjoying the leisurely time. The staff are warm-hearted and hospitable. They will kindly recommend travel routes and help arrange car rentals. It's just like having a warm home in Dali. On the West Coast of Dali, whether you're enjoying the natural scenery or experiencing the local culture, it can heal your soul. I believe you'll fall in love with this place once you come here.
