Genhe was originally a forest farm in the Greater Khingan Range, but logging has long since stopped. With the population decline, the city now has only 20,000 permanent residents, and the streets are clean and quiet. The coldest place in China is not Mohe, but Mangui Town in Genhe City, where the temperature can drop to -58°C in winter. It takes 4 hours by train from Genhe to reach the depths of the Greater Khingan Range - Mangui. Mangui Station is also the northernmost train station in Inner Mongolia, and is always a transit station for travelers to Mohe. Among the popular attractions in Inner Mongolia, it has earned the title of "the coldest town" to varying degrees. When you arrive in Mangui that night, there are two or three buses to Mohe at the entrance of the train station, as well as a group of drivers taking passengers to Mohe. It is difficult to get a taxi in this small town, but it is not a big place, with a main road running through the whole town.
