Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall

Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was built by the citizens of Guangzhou and overseas Chinese to commemorate Sun Yat-sen. Construction began in 1929 and was completed in 1931. The main hall is an octagonal ancient palace-style building, consisting of four palace-style double-eave gable buildings in the front, back, left, and right, which support the central octagonal glazed tile roof. The roof is divided into four layers of different heights, with flying eaves on each layer. The 71-meter-wide hall has no pillars to block the view, and is magnificent and splendid. It is a perfect combination of traditional Chinese architectural style and Western architectural structure, and is a masterpiece of architectural art. In addition to the main hall, there are also: ① A bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen, with the content of Sun Yat-sen's "Outline of the Founding of the Country" engraved on the white granite base under the statue. ② The gate tower of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, a house-style three-hole archway. ③ Yunhe Huabiao, with auspicious clouds swirling around the top of the column, solemn and steady. ④ Sun Yat-sen Monument, located on the top of Yuexiu Mountain, is on the same axis as Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, forming a unique pattern of a hall in the front and a monument in the back. In 2016, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and Sun Yat-sen Monument in Guangzhou were selected as the first batch of "China's 20th Century Architectural Heritage List". Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is one of the most iconic buildings in Guangzhou, a national key cultural relic protection unit, a national 4A tourist attraction, and the first choice for many units to hold performances, meetings, and events.
