Mudanjiang | Hengdaohezi Middle East Railway Locomotive Depot

Built in 1903, this fan-shaped locomotive depot was constructed to store and maintain locomotives, with a capacity of up to 15 locomotives. There is also a turntable at the center in front of the depot, which allows the locomotive to be rotated and directed into the appropriate bay after entering the turntable. Inside the old depot, several steam locomotives are on display, including the No. 886 steam locomotive manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Japan in 1936, which participated in the railway transportation during the Korean War and was retired in 2006. Films and TV dramas such as 'Above the Cliff' and 'Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy' were shot here. It is a national key cultural relics protection unit.
