Zhangye's Colorful Danxia in Real Time | The Eighth Color After Snowfall I finally saw the Colorful Danxia from my geography textbook! The snow covered the colorful glow, but added an eighth color. I thought of Yu Guangzhong's poem, "Between the moonlight and the snow, you are the third color," and was moved. We left Jiayuguan City at 7:30 am, drove for two hours, and then got stuck in traffic for two and a half hours. We didn't arrive at Zhangye's Colorful Danxia until after 12 pm. We had beef noodles (CNY 25) in the scenic area, and the ticket and bus cost CNY 92. We didn't enter the scenic area until 1:30 pm. The snow hadn't melted yet, and I thought the Colorful Danxia would turn into Snowy Danxia. On the bus, I saw places where the snow had melted. The colors that appeared and disappeared in the snow were unique. Four stations are open during the off-season. Photos 1 and 2 were taken on the bus to the first station, Qicai Xianyuan Terrace. The bus was a little shaky, but the view was beautiful. We started at the north gate. The first station was Qicai Xianyuan Terrace (Photos 3 and 4). There was nothing special, so we took photos for five minutes and got back on the bus. The second station was Qicai Yunhai Terrace (Photos 5–13). After getting off the bus, we walked uphill. After everyone left, we turned around and saw the beautiful road stretching out behind us. We played in the snow and took photos for a while. It was so much fun. The blue sky, warm sun, white snow, and Colorful Danxia were a rare and wonderful combination. We continued uphill to a huge viewing platform with great views all around. The second station also has a VR experience hall where you can watch "Flying Over Danxia" for CNY 60. Although the ticket price is a bit expensive, we were already there, so we watched it. The 8-minute immersive experience was led by a father eagle and his baby eagle, who guided us through the entire Danxia scenic area. The colorful visual effects were stunning. The third station was Qicai Jinxiu Terrace (Photos 14–17). We walked up to the viewing platform, where there was a stone tablet for the Colorful Danxia. In the distance, there was a row of snow-capped mountains with a wisp of cloud floating above them. It felt like a paradise far from the hustle and bustle of the world. Walking down from the viewing platform, we could overlook the S-shaped road. The atmosphere was great when a car passed by. In the distance, there was a house left behind from a movie directed by Zhang Yimou. The fourth station was Qicai Hongxia Terrace (Photo 18). Doesn't it look a bit like a turtle asking the sky? We were in a hurry, so we didn't go up to the viewing platform. We took the 4 pm bus out of the park. We left some regrets, but doesn't that give us an excuse to come back? We returned to Xining today. We got stuck in traffic, so we took the 6:49 pm train from Zhangye West. The train car was empty and quiet, so I worked hard to update!
