Traveling from the UK to Norway's Hafjell Ski Resort is Incredibly Convenient

For a three-day ski trip, Hafjell in Norway is the perfect choice for intermediate skiers without a car. Unlike the inconvenient transportation to French ski resorts, the challenging slopes in Austria, the expensive Swiss resorts, and the need for self-driving in Italy, Hafjell offers an ideal alternative. Ski Resort: Hafjell Alpinsenter, located near Lillehammer. Transportation: Fly to Oslo Airport, take a train to Lillehammer (1.5 hours), and then bus 141 from the train station to the ski resort (20 minutes). Skiing Costs for 3 Days: Ski pass £136, ski and helmet rental £72, locker £9. Ski Resort Difficulty: Beginner-friendly with mainly green, blue, and red slopes. The mountain is filled with green trails interspersed with scenic forests and snow-covered pines, perfect for practice and offering breathtaking views. The lifts and gondolas are efficient, minimizing wait times. Hotel: Scandic Hafjell. Despite booking late and seeing a 7.6 rating on Booking, the clean rooms and proximity to the ski resort (accessible by bus or walking) were a pleasant surprise. The price includes a delicious breakfast with cinnamon buns, and there are pool and sauna facilities for relaxation. Importantly, daily room cleaning is provided without the need for reservation, unlike some hotels in the US and Japan that require booking under the guise of sustainability. A Spar supermarket is just a 3-minute walk away, offering everything you need. This ski season, from pizza to parallel turns, from green to black slopes, ended perfectly!
